  1. Duke Postgame

The whole talent excuse needs to stop. Almost everybody in the 2 deep on D had multiple P5 offers coming out of HS. There's no reason for us to be this bad on D.
  2. Our record is now better than . . .

You could throw Oregon on that list as well.
  3. Duke Postgame

Absolutely. The crappy D and spotty OL play is on him at this point.
  4. Duke Postgame

QFT....Roof had 2 whole weeks to prepare for the mighty Duke O. Ridiculous.
  5. Duke Postgame

I'm glad we won. JT was in beast mode today. How anyone can defend Roof at this point is beyond me. I'm sure Jerry will be along to tell us how fortunate we are to have ol Ted as our DC.
  6. Ted Roof's job

I'm afraid if we lose tomorrow, you're gonna see a "Paul Johnson's Job" thread take over the top of the board.
  7. Dedrick out for Duke

Hard to argue this based off of what I saw last game. I'm hoping we've decided to go with a different LB rotation than last game as well.
  8. Duke Predictions

I'm thinking this one might be a little ugly, similar to the BC game, but I do think we win. I'll go with 24-16.
  9. A few notes from last night's show

33jacket is hitting the nail on the head with regards to my biggest concerns of keeping Roof long term. He's not changing his scheme. We will always be the "bend but dont' break" defense. It's like expecting PJ to drastically change the O. The difference is one has been effective, the other...
  10. Explaining Points per Drive vs Points Per Game

How many of our starters on D would start for Houston, Northwestern, NCState, Colorado, South Florida, Minnesota or Troy, all of which are above us in FEI???
  11. Great read and I agree

And that right there is part of the reason that our offensive numbers are down. The other teams have been "death marching" us down the field. You just helped prove the point that you've been trying to argue against. Also, to say Ted has improved the D, is like winning tallest guy at the...
  12. Great read and I agree

I'm not sure if this has been mentioned but GT is averaging 61.3 offenisve plays per game. That's good for 127th in the nation.
  13. Rule Changes

I may be in the minority but I'm to the point where I wish they'd get rid of the "charge" in basketball. Offenisve foul calls for clearing out, pushing off, etc. is fine but trying to decipher from a "block/charge" call has gotten so difficult to call. Teams like Duke have made taking charges...
  14. Jahaziel Lee

    Correct
  15. Ted Roof's job

    Here's a read about the GSU game/defense...From the Rumble Seat...Just a heads up, I don't think he's a Ted Roof fan... http://www.fromtherumbleseat.com/2016/10/20/13311540/georgia-tech-football-little-big-plays---georgia-southern
  16. Ted Roof's job

Do we have enough talent on D to be great? Nope. Do we have enough talent on D to be quite a bit better than what we've shown? Absolutely. That's where a different DC comes in...
  17. UGA game might have gotten easier

I'd be trying to smoke my memories of the day away as well, if I had lost to the Dores.
  18. The crux of the matter

While 3rd down may be the "make or break" part of the game, a significant portion of that problem is the yards we are giving up on 1st and 2nd down. GSU had several 3rd and shorts on Saturday.
  19. Ted Roof's job

The talk of Roof even being a possible replacement for CPJ is just a few people on the interwebs being silly. There is NOTHING on his resume that should warrant him being a HC at GT or any P5 school for that matter. I'm pretty sure Jerry has a soft spot for Roof because he's a "Tech" guy.
  20. How Many Games Will GT Win?

I get the frustration because I've been there already this year myself but some of this is just not accurate... Duke - Yes, we've lost the last 2 to them but overall, PJ has a dam good record against them. They are not the Duke of 10-20 years ago. UVA - It took something like 18-20 years for...
