That pretty well sums it up.
I didn’t get good vibes from him from the beginning but kept hoping I was wrong and hoping all those who drank the kool aid knew something I didn’t.
But three things became fingernails on a chalkboard. He was totally disrespectful to the coach he followed...
Might even make the regular season more of a minefield too. If you are focused on planning for a conference championship game, and a national championship run, you might end up with more Appalachian State upsets of Michigan. 😊
Yeah, weirdly, if he were to get his $h!+ together I could forgive him all the pain he put Tech through. Right now I just don’t like him as a person but if he grows as a human being and learns a little personal responsibility I would applaud him.
Even if that were true, I don’t think I would say that publicly.
Ahem, if I were a head coach….
I would have team goals, built around discussion and input from coordinators as much as possible but with the final say.
Coordinators would report to me and explain what they are seeing / doing...
I’m too lazy to look it up but I thought Mack Brown was the most consistently winning coach UNC has had. Maybe it was like Richt at uga, one of their best coaches but not considered capable of getting them to the next level.
Uga fans, and powers that be, proved to be right, and replacing Richt...
Wow.
UNC feeling like they need some kind of inside edge with Tech. That’s….something.
You know your friend so maybe you can answer. Is he just being brave about this hire? Whistling past the graveyard? Does he think Collins is somehow the reason UNC can’t beat Tech?
What do you make of...
This.
Sociopaths only look out for themselves and only care about themselves. What we now see is that Collins was not just a bad coach and a bad hire. He was much worse than that. He professed deep abiding love for Tech, not because he actually gave a rats a$$ about Tech, but because he was...
Was reading this thread waiting for someone to say this. I never saw any evidence that Collins could build a defense or a program. As you point out, he usually followed good coaches or came into established programs. And usually left them a little worse for the wear.
