Scares me some, but not to much. I’m glad we not just looking at tired retreads. It depends on who will his assistance be as well. Him being AA doesn’t hurt any at all. Him being at a program that already recruits the area. That the players and coaches know. That is familiar with the landscape...
Malzahn
Morris
Kelly
Urban
They are not all running the same base offense. The smashmouth spread was created by Malzahn is a variation of the wing-t. Morris learned the offense from him.

What offense doesn’t?
Another thing I like about Elliot is that he had the highest GPA while at Clemson earning a degree in Industrial Engineering, so education is of value to him. Potential for great mentorship.
Tony Elliot would be a great fit with our current skill players. The oline will need adjusting but the oline will need adjusting anyway. I’m not in complete love with the “spread” teams but this one makes sense.
I like it.

Depends on what’s the philosophy. If we going to be about developing players for the NFL. Grooming QB’s like Stanford & Duke. Playing a “pro-style” offense and getting smart kids that won’t a shot at the league, then Wisenhunt makes sense.
Groh coached both Wake & UVA.
NFL experience is just that experience. I don’t know how well he’d be in college but to say it’s an awful hire is weird to me. He’s had/having success.
