It would be a really bad hire for recruiting. He has no network what so ever. No relationships and hasn’t been on the trail in 2 decades. It would kill recruiting for at least two or three seasons and that’s if he hires knowledgeable assistants. This isn’t ASU this is Georgia and the knives...
From what I understand he used to go pretty hard negatively recruiting against GT. Not sure if it matters but people have and issue with Key should have this in mind as well.

Tony Elliott & Brent Key, supposedly contacted GT and expressed interest. Tony has been very selective on interviewing so his desire to coach GT is telling.
Elliot is my top guy.
He fits the culture and his system would be easily transferable. He knows the area and is familiar with GT’s recruiting and recruiting restrictions. He also is aware of the advantages.
The arrogance and elitism of some of GT fan base is a HUGE turnoff. When one of the board members dismissed Tony Elliot’s industrial engineering degree & college GPA because he went to Clemson, that’s a problem of mentality.
