  1. I know CGC "talking points" can irritate after a loss, but

When the TV announcers were raving about how quickly following a play Georgia rushed a new defensive alignment onto the field I was wondering if that really meant their defensive linemen were limited in their skill set.
  2. I know CGC "talking points" can irritate after a loss, but

That's a stretch. Heaven help us when a football coach tells the truth. He didn't name a receiver and they did have drops and they did get mauled. I don't like Georgia and Smart but I can't criticize a guy for pointing out the bleeding obvious.
  3. The Culture is Real

Now, back up a bit. If by "have fun culture" you mean Clemson -- and it is so far beyond that simplicity you don't seem to get it, and you really should listen to Swinney talk sometime to learn what a really serious and smart guy he is, and how difficult and far flung his "culture" was to...
  4. First Year Coaching Grades

It seems they talked to Collins and to an NFL coach/former Tech man. But in truth there weren't any name brands out there wanting the Tech job.
  5. Can you believe this butt sniffer wants someone to pay for his camera?

Well, then he will not mind being deposed but from the snippet I saw he is not all confident he doesn't know the man. Even to a lapdog talking head. I believe I read of several huge lawsuits he filed, he dropped all of them. Discovery, under oath subject to perjury. Stops a lot of suits.
  6. The Culture is Real

I hate to reference Swinney again, but a friend knows him well so I hear these stories. As for discipline, the fact he wants fun and a relaxed atmosphere doesn't stop him from coaching. I was told of one practice when players "got chippy" and lost discipline. It resulted in a "brutal" practice...
  7. Can you believe this butt sniffer wants someone to pay for his camera?

Well you are right about the forum. There are lawyers on the board who could respond better, but the problem with suing somebody is that uncomfortable little thing called "discovery", and he will never submit to that .... under oath. The suit will quietly be dropped.
  8. The Culture is Real

I don't think I have ever heard so many spectacular superlatives as associated with a coach who has yet to achieve accomplishments to match. Between "monumental", "...rebuild in the history of ", "great recruiter" and now right there at the top "on the planet" with details, there doesn't seem...
  9. Can you believe this butt sniffer wants someone to pay for his camera?

Shoot, TS ought to sue him for hurting his feelings. This is like one of those Nunes lawsuits. It is for show.
  10. Can you believe this butt sniffer wants someone to pay for his camera?

Any photographer using his own equipment -- I question $6,000 but let it go -- and is on the sidelines through some odd pass normally restricted to the schools and the working press, can be pretty certain there will be sideline collisions and big bodies at full speed running out of bounds. More...
  11. The Culture is Real

One of my fondest memories is of a running back in high school, trying to play on a knee that already had been wrecked, wrecked it again. The pain had to be enormous, and a doctor in the stands -- it was an away game -- shot him full of something to get him back home with us and to a hospital...
  12. CPJ interview - Nov 11

Spending is almost always a show stopper. I remember when we had newspapers -- anybody remember them? -- and the owners literally cut the news space in half to save money on newsprint. The editors almost without exception played team ball and said the paper was better than ever because, gee, we...
  13. The Culture is Real

If you had the most fun year ever going 3-9, I wouldn't want to be in the room if you won say, four. This is just a ridiculous and patently phony endorsement of a coach. You enjoyed losing nine games? Now I know why we lost nine games. My god. Imagine the fun if you won none.
  14. CPJ interview - Nov 11

I don't know he would have won eight, but I'm fairly confident he would have broken even and added a bowl game. But -- and maybe it is just a conservative view of the sideline, I just don't want to look up at the TV and see our head ball coach doing pushups (not very good ones, either) when his...
  15. Assistant Coaching changes in the off season ?

Now, that is just out and out mean. I like it.
  16. CPJ interview - Nov 11

One can rationalize losses to his heart's content, but we lost all those games. There are no do-overs.
  17. CPJ interview - Nov 11

    Monumental, no doubt.
  18. CPJ interview - Nov 11

Franco is still dead. Collins is here, it is his ship, and Johnson is doing things like consulting with Harbaugh and the Baltimore Ravens on option football, seeing as how they have this really slick option QB, and pro football is finding out Johnson was right that the option can work at any...
  19. CPJ interview - Nov 11

I'm sorry, but what history of great recruiting? Shoot, he didn't stay in a job long enough to turn the motor off. His HC job at Temple didn't result in it, though he brashly claimed all the credit after losing to them, which has to mark a serious first in lack of awareness. I hope he can, but...
