    ACC Tournament

Nah that's dumb too. AE 87's idea here makes the most sense as an alternative. (Putting last minute logistics and the challenge of selling-out your arena on two days notice.) You people who want to magically change the tourney structure are missing a very key point -- nobody wants to watch a...

    ACC Tournament

Yeah I sweezed 'em to only 7 X 2.5 hours. But you're right, it would need to start at 6AM.

    ACC Tournament

Are you kidding me? Man if they set up the bracket where only the #1 team gets a bye then that makes 7 games on day one. What are you gonna start at 8AM and the last one tips-off at 11PM?? It's not practical. Spread it out over two days and half the field gets screwed in the next round...

So who-all do we need to root against so Tech can move up to a higher seed in the NIT?

    ACC Tournament

Virginia draining 7 of 13 3's, playing sick defense, grabbing all the rebounds... How did we ever hang with these guys in the first half?

    ACC Tournament

When Clemson was building their lead the announcers kept yammering about how the Tigers were taking advantage of Tech's poor "ball screen defense". No comment about our defensive adjustments that drove the comeback. What changed, besides MGH getting fouled and Clem going cold?

He was clearly in there for his defense, with Mitchell in foul trouble. My question is why does Stephens get so many minutes?

    ACC Tournament

Blossomgame has narrowly avoided fouling-out twice. We need to attack that guy!

    ACC Tournament

I would've loved for us to have beaten VT and Clemson and ended up the 6th seed vs FSU, but can't complain too much.

Yeah I concur. From in RPI perspective, Pitt is the best resume-building opponent we could hope for. From from Wins/Losses I'd rather play more beatable Clem.

Big win over Pitt! Go Jackets! Oh sh** if VT loses to Miami then I think our first round 7 vs 10 opponent will be Pittsburgh AGAIN!

Remember from the breakdown in posts #23 & 24 above...the #11 seed is the only spot where a low end team gets a realistic shot at 2 ACC tourney wins. All other seeds setup for 1 win & 1 loss.

    Boston College - 2/27

Yeah I hate to say it but from the looks of that performance this may be the last win of the year.

    That's what I'm screaming, 28 posts ago.

Need 4 wins for sure, but if you'll re-read that ACC seed breakdown above, you'll see that 2 in the ACC tourney is an extremely tall order. Sure @Lou is a tough game to win but not as tough as the likely 2nd round matchup vs top-seeded UNC, UVA, or Miami. Here's hoping we catch Louisville...

You mean the next FOUR games. ...and that still may not be enough to get an invite.

    Boston College - 2/27

Boston College is a bad team, flat out, regardless of what conference they play in. No excuse for not beating them handily. Further, I'll say if don't win this game by at least 8+ then we can forget about beating Louisville & Pitt. Gotta disagree with the "if we play like we did in the 1st...

    Boston College - 2/27

That UNC game was the one & only time this season that BC played any ACC opponent close. Total fluke.

Next UP - Clemson, Tuesday, February 23

Posted this already the NIT thread... Looking ahead to the ACC tournament, we'll go in hoping for at least 1 win, but preferably 2 before an inevitable exit. So which seed gives Georgia Tech (or any bubble-level team) the best shot at 2 tourney wins? Well now that Louisville is out, the...
