It is speculation because there is nothing to say that Beau would have made the plays that Tyler didn't and because Beau has not played much outside of special teams, his strengths and weakness are likely unknown to us.
This sounds a lot like speculation. Beau hasn't played much on anything but special teams. On the year, Tyler had 5.5 TFL (4th on the team), 2 Sacks (tied for 3rd), and 28 tackles (good for 9th). If Beau could do better, the coaches would be starting him.
Carvell is a tool. No more, no less. Reading the recruiting section on the AJC is just like watching the GT-UGA game on the SEC network. The media personalities couldn't be neutral even though they were paid to be. The unfortunate thing is that Carvell does have a bully pulpit.
The thing is to me that even though the line has gotten bigger, we don't seem slower or less aggressive. This was the first year I recall that it felt like we were just going out and dominating people with the O-line. Even against FSU, we straight smashed them in the face for most of the game.
For a minute, lets think of a right side O-line with Burden at C, Devine at G, and Joe at T. That is 292-365-326 across the line. Use Braun on the left as a pull guard at 295. That is a SEC sized line.
