Paula and Calvin adopted Jabari. Steve Hummer in AJC reports that the relationship is a little strained.

Synjyn is plotting a course to attend dental school.

This has been discussed in previous threads. I think Jabari feels like if he made the NFL with no problems, his guardians would be quick to get a piece. But once he got in trouble they were quick to cut him off financially and call him out in public. Either way I think it's made Jabari hungrier for success.

I don't think Jabari believes they would want a piece of any NFL pie. I'm pretty sure it comes down to him being upset that they encouraged CPJ to cut his scholarship to teach him some tough love.

DaBuzz hit it on the head. It was a close family. Calvin demands his boys to give 100% effort and when Jabari did not, he let him have it. I hope they can reconcile and be as close as they used to.

Let's just hope that Jabari gets it all together and gets back on the team next Fall. He has SO MUCH POTENTIAL. He just needs to step back up and make it happen. Even though he wasn't able to qualify to play in the bowl, apparently his grades are up, and that's a good beginning.

No problem with what the days have done. Hope that Jabari is able to look back at the situation as one of growth, not someone out to get him. Calvin and Paula are holding his feet to the fire just like they have Synjyn. I applaud them for the being PARENTS first and "friends" second in the relationship with their kids.

I would think that the relationship would be strained at this point, but if JH works hard and learns from his mistakes, he will be thankful for their tough love. If not...then he'll learn a few more tough lessons down the road.

Happy to hear that his grades are up and I REALLY REALLY hope to see him in white and gold next year!
