Well, that rain moved off shore pretty quickly. Maybe they will be able to get the game started on time, or close to it anyway.

Yeah, I don't see this game today starting at 3:00. Radar is looking pretty colorful right now.

The weather for tomorrow is looking a little better. The rain may be done tomorrow by early afternoon, allowing for a late afternoon start assuming that BC's field drains decently. I'm now cautiously optimistic that we'll be able to get all three games in.

I also got 17 out of 37. Some of those are true trivia, and by that I mean trivial and of no importance, but still fun to take.

Just FYI, all Stripers games are streamed on MiLB.tv I think that started last season. I don't know that this means equipment was available to Georgia St., but the capability is certainly there. https://www.milb.com/live-stream-games/subscribe

Thanks Nuke....I don't see them getting all three games in this weekend. I'm guessing one Friday and then one on Sunday. Maybe try to play two on Friday? I'm just glad I don't have to sit through the weather! ETA: I went 2 out of three for us, based totally on just a gut feel.

It's still a little early for RPI, but since you mentioned it, our RPI is still floating around the 60's. Last night was a 6 slot hit, but the Auburn and Wofford losses are considered "good" losses as both are in the top 50 RPI right now. Last night's loss is our only sub 50 loss of the season...

I'm not disagreeing with you 78Pike, but trying to make sense of the pitchers used today. I suspect that the coaches have seen the benefit that having a Siegel and a Smith performing well can bring to the team, and they really want to get them going. Remember that Siegel turned in a good...

    2022-23 Season

The ACC is looking well balanced so far. Yes, it's early still. Best record is 5-2 (four instances of this) and only three teams are more than a game below .500. Of those three, two were ranked pre-season. Clemson may be the bottom of the barrel in the ACC this year...we need to do our part in...

    2022-23 Season

LSU/Arkansas (both ranked in the top 5), are playing an afternoon game to beat the rain. Anyway, neither team could muster any offense throughout the game, and it was 1-1 at the end of the 9th. Well, in the 10th, Arkansas has hung an 8 spot with a 3 run homer and a grand slam. The score is going...

    2022-23 Season

Tough loss for UGa last night to Auburn in 11 innings. UGa was up 6-3, bottom 9th, 2 out, no one on base, 2-2 count on the batter, but couldn't put it away. Still up 6-5, the tieing run scored from 2nd base on an error by the shortstop.

It's a shame there isn't a game scheduled for today. This is great baseball weather!

    2022-23 Season

Speaking for myself only, I will say that I have never doubted any player or coaches work ethic or desire to win. I have not one iota of doubt this is more important to them than it is to me. That is a complete strawman on the disgruntled poster's part, trying to say that anyone is questioning...

My guess would be that Hill will be given strong consideration for the starting rotation once he can get stretched out. Perhaps he will be the one to take down the bull. Getting 6 strong out of him every weekend would be more valuable than another good back-end of the bullpen piece.

    2022-23 Season

My thoughts... Hitting: No studs, but more depth than normal. DeLeo has been getting the base hits, but so far zero XBHs in conference play + the UGa series. I believe this is just random, as his average is more than fine, but it will be a great lift when he does start delivering some XBHs...

    Louisville, anyone?

Looks like UGa and Auburn have both had rough weekends. Not good for our RPI :(

Certainly that helps, yes. But if all you do is throw 1st pitch strikes by just throwing a BP fastball, teams will learn that and you'll start giving up a lot of 1st pitch base hits.

I'll go with mostly #1, and a little bit of #4 and #5. It is my understanding that DBo, as a roving minor league pitching instructor, has never had the responsibility of calling pitches. IOW, he doesn't have experience with getting hitters in a situation to fail. That is the main job of pitch...

Wow, are there really folks who bet on college baseball games? That is nuts, especially for a mid-week game.

Count me as one who is very strongly against the electronic strike zone. The technology at the MLB parks is not there yet, and we expect college ballparks to be able to implement this?
