I would love to see his underlying methodology but cannot find and links in the study that indicate that. My guess is there are some assumptions there which may not be accurate in GT's case.

The issue for GT has NEVER been about support once the athletes are in school. It has been about getting the Admissions Office to accept exceptions. Period. GT gets very few. Other schools get lots.

Ho took a program that went 2-10 the year before he got there, went 25-24 and led them to bowls in 3 of his 4 seasons. Beats the hades out of what Collins did for GT.

This. The open question is whether the added money would result in better athletic performances. I agree the Big Ten would be stiffer competition, but we'll never know if extra money would solve our problems. Extra money could have allowed us to gamble on someone like Prime Time as a new HFC...

I had hoped for Satterfield when we hired Collins. While he did not win any trophies yet at Louisville, he has turned them into a competitive team. They will be a tough game for us next year. He's a good coach!

Again, Colorado has opened the pocketbooks. Paying Prime MUCH more than GT wanted to spend, paying top dollar for assistants, etc etc. Had we not just gone through the financial debacle of Collins, we might have been able to take such chances, but I believe we made the prudent choice with Key...
