    I'm thinking VPI gets Harris

Hewitt developed better ice cream than Mayfield
  3. ACC Discussion

Wait. We’re seriously saying Hewitt developed players? Seriously? The running joke among people in my section at AMC was that players left with the exact same game they arrived with. The consistency was nice. Their first game as a fresh to their last game, nothing ever changed

US News college rankings out this morning... #4 in Engineering, behind MIT, Stanford & Berkeley. Tied with Cal Tech We are #35 in national university and #8 in public universities. UGA is behind us in both (46 & 13, respectively). In the ACC, Duke (8), Notre Dame (18), UVA (25), Wake (27)...

I went to the ACCT in Charlotte a few times in the 90s at the old Hornets place. Always sold out and very hard to get tickets Went to 2005 in DC at the MCI Arena. Sold out. Tough ticket Went to 2001 & 2009 in the Dome and 2012 in Phillips. Attendance in 2001 was ok, but it looked bad...
  6. 2018-2019 GT hoops schedule

We should see the official ACC league schedule released within the next few days. Hope we get as many Saturday / Sunday home games as possible
  7. RPI is no longer to be used for NCAAT selection

Also, the selection committee only has to figure out the last 8 or so spots in the field. 68 total bids 32 automatic bids Power conferences get about 20 of those spots, before we even talk about bubble teams (ACC, Big East, SEC, Big Ten, Big Twelve, PAC 12) That leaves about 12 spots for the...
  8. RPI is no longer to be used for NCAAT selection

My fear is your first point. If they don't tell people how the new system works, I fully expect the following will happen in the smoke filled room of secrecy that is the selection committee. Committee Member #1: Hey, how did small conference Team X get in and my conference's Team Y didn't...

I'm completely fine with us passing on Balsa. In addition to the stuff Peac mentions, his stock has been dropping for two years. He was seen as a top 10-ish talent two years ago. Now he's a 4 star and ranked around 50th. I watched him play a few times in AAU 2017 and came away wondering...

Using last year's RPI (I don't think they will have first 2018-19 RPI until mid-Dec), our non-conference slate is not going to help on selection Sunday. Home games #80 UGA #232 Lamar #234 UT-Rio Grande #240 Gardner Webb #245 Prairie View #275 ECU #301 Kennesaw St #333 FAMU #345...
  12. Article Haywood and Pastner Want To Go Fast

True. I hope we're beyond the days of sweating out games against the pay-for-pummel opponents. We may not be, but I"m optimistic :)
  13. Article Haywood and Pastner Want To Go Fast

I think 10-3 OOC is very realistic expectation. 9 wins should be guaranteed and we should be able to steal one of the 4 against "real" teams 10 wins in ACC given our schedule (especially on the road) will be extremely difficult.
  14. ACC Discussion

I find the Clemson hate interesting. Yes, our former AD tried to bankrupt us and then ran up 85 to try and do the same to them. They are football and baseball first. Basketball a distant afterthought. You can argue the same is true on the Flats. Tech has had more basketball success...
  15. 2018-2019 GT hoops schedule

OOC: No excuse for us to lose to Lamar, ECU, UT-RGV, FAMU, Prairie View, Gardner Webb, Kennesaw or SC-Upstate. Plus we have one pay-for-pummel to add still. I know we have lost to some of these (or similar) in the past, but that is inexcusable. That should mean 9 wins in the bag...
  16. Okogie to the T-Wolves at #20 overall

I think Trae shot 1 - 100 or so in his first game. I forget what his actual numbers were, but read that they were really bad, including a couple of airballs. Think he played better in second tilt Bagley scored about 18 or 20 in first game. Second game he was complete non factor...
  17. Where does College BB go from here

They probably want to ask the administration and AD why in the name of God they left the ACC for the wasteland of the Midwest. Yes, the BTN payout was nice, but that will be drying up as people cut the cord for TV. Those January road games in Nebraska and the scintillating games against...

Interesting to see Brice Johnson washing out. Thought he was the next John Henson. (Henson is a solid rotation guy. 8 ppl, 5 rpg in 20 mins)

  20. ACC Discussion

@Peacone36 it can't be hard to get a perfect APR when you don't go to class, your team's tutors write all your papers and you're guaranteed an A. That said, I will acknowledge Marcus Paige was supposed to be a bright kid who actually did well in real classes.
