Good point... you’re right. On a first down in bounds under the old rule, officials probably had signaled “ready for play” in about 10 seconds on big plays and even less on short one. It’s really not that big of a difference, to your point.

Agreed... My favorite part is how the reaction to all of the false reporting always signals the same conclusion... “the ACC is weak... life support... it will be torn apart...” I have yet to see anyone tell us how or admit that it’s virtually impossible for that to happen in the next 8-10 years.
