  1. NIL, Transfers, and Stratospheric Salaries. What Is the Future of GT Football and College Football in General?

I’m not saying it isn’t doable, I just doubt the NFL or the colleges would get to that level. I can see the NFL essentially brokering a huge media deal but I don’t see them diving into the inner workings of college athletic departments
  2. NIL, Transfers, and Stratospheric Salaries. What Is the Future of GT Football and College Football in General?

So you’re thinking the NFL is all in, even beyond a media deal? That’s interesting… That would make college players and coaches NFL employees? I am not sure how the NFL would “level” the athletic donation aspect unless they separate the football programs from the rest of the athletic dept. and...
  3. GT vs #17 Ole Miss GAME THREAD

It starts up front…. Duh. If Ole Miss handles the LOS with four, I don’t see King having a lot of success throwing into 7-8. Im hoping that our backs have some success with early touches to keep LB guessing. If we don’t open running lanes, it’ll be a long day. I see this game having the...
  4. Haynes King Update: How Do We Feel About Him?

I REALLY hope you’re right here
  5. Loudspeaker Volume at Bobby Dodd

I’m not laughing AT you… I am laughing WITH you.
  6. Loudspeaker Volume at Bobby Dodd

It’s all about the feels man! This is an emotional response that I think is becoming all too common. Its bad = it bothers me and it should stop immediately because NOBODY else has to deal with it, why should I? Its good = sure its nice, but its not a big deal and EVERYONE else has the same, if...
  7. CFP Discussion

Notre dame can take care of the Buckeyes in two weeks. If Penn St or Michigan runs the table, that would be a problem for them. I don’t see anyone from BIG coming out unscathed.
  8. Conference Realignment

I am sure that they don’t have any such ability, but it sure would be fun! After the departing schools pulled that crap, I think OSU and WSU should investigate and enact every single emergency measure they have at their disposal to get paid.
  9. Conference Realignment

In fact, how about Wazzu, and Oregon state, as the only voting members of the Pac 12, pass an amendment to defer 2023 conference revenues distribution to next year. Next year the 2023 conference revenues will be distributed 51% to the conference champion in 49% to the conference runner-up. :D
  10. Conference Realignment

    That’s hysterically unbelievable! Seriously? Some people’s kids… I swear. :D
  11. ACC Standings

Unfortunate year to avoid the Hokies…
  12. Has the cycle started to shift for the SEC?

But the rest of the world still believes that the PBR drinking, wife beater shirt wearing hicks are all alike, right?
  13. ACC Standings

First point: spot on. Since the same people who made the preseason polls continue making the weekly polls, they tend to be slow to admit mistakes. Results are “flukes” unless its something like we saw in Tuscaloosa this weekend. I’m not sure anyone can be “comfortable” with a loss, unless they...
  14. Has the cycle started to shift for the SEC?

Agree… just picking at that nit because in-state talent wasn’t part of the stated criteria (unless it was from a previous post that I missed).
  15. Has the cycle started to shift for the SEC?

I would agree that LSU and Ohio State are the top of the heap when it comes to in state talent and no major in state rival, but they are far from the only two. Arkansas, Missouri, Wisconsin, Minnesota, Nebraska, WVU and Maryland come to mind as states with only one “power” conference football...
  16. Nebraska @ Minnesota

Just saw a blurb about the game that said he left late with injury too….it seems this year is following the same script, unfortunately for him.
  17. Conference Realignment

Also of note… They are giving up the “tier 1” media part of the ACC deal. That’s about $25m. They still get media from the lower tier rights as well as post season and bonuses. All told, they expect to make roughly the $9-$10m they were already making in G5. The donations are gravy… and it’s a...
  18. Conference Realignment

They may have an argument. In the context of “historical power,” everyone in the top 3 has nattys. VT could be tied for 4th with such criteria Point stands… its pretty darned hard to wiggle UNC into a “top four” football discussion
  19. Conference Realignment

Putting UNC football in the top four of “historic football powers” I am guessing their rankings must look something like this: 1. (Tie)Notre Dame, FSU 2. (tie) Clemson, GT, Miami 3. (Tie) Pittsburgh, Syracuse 4. North Carolina
