  1. Jeff Sims

You might be able to argue last year was wasted for Charlie but not 2019 and 2021. Charlie has always been a little undersized for linebacker so I don’t blame the staff for trying to find other roles he could fill in 2020.
  2. Another win this season?

3/4 teams we play haven’t been consistent this year so you never know. Tech is also due to create a few turnovers which has been missing in the last few games. I don’t agree with us not deserving three wins. Kennesaw and UNC were blow outs and even though we won Duke late, we also gave away...
  3. Where do we go from here?

A lot of A lot of good questions. For the offensive line in the future, I’m hopeful that ATL young players like Williams, Franklin, Pendley, and Paula start to form a line that has played together for years. I suspect they’ve been saving Franklin’s redshirt. Wouldn’t be surprised if we still...
  4. Jeff Sims

Sims is more of a high risk high reward QB at this point in his career and I think most people would agree. Yates is definitely more careful with the ball but makes less big plays than Sims which I also think most people would agree with. I don’t think Sims turnovers on offense are really our...
  5. Mostly “Fire Geoff Collins”, some reminiscing, maybe bourbon or other distractions

Patience with Pastner paid off last year. He gets to prove himself further moving forward. I’ve been rather patient with this football staff, but my expectations started lower than some on this board. I’m rather disappointed with our performance and staff this year but I’m always comparing back...
  6. Harrison Bailey transfer

As much as I like sims, I don’t see him as a pro QB. I’d love for him to prove me wrong. He could be a tremendous college player, and his athleticism could land him an invite to an nfl rookie camp in the future as an undrafted player.

Any video of those statements available?
  8. Virginia Postgame

I agree with a few posts that I’m not sure we have the personnel to play 3-down lineman. I expected UVA to dominate our secondary because UVA has a great pass attack, but the tackling and run defense was a disappointment. UVA ran for 240 yards. I also wish we’d play more aggressively on D, as...
  9. No UVA ATL chart yet?

Our guys second up are just as injured unfortunately. Guys like Pendley, Kirby, Smith on the OL don’t appear to be available. Not sure if we are trying to save Franklin’s redshirt too.
  10. What can our secondary do to improve?

I’d love to see some of the younger guys step up and play in the secondary. I haven’t looked at advanced stats but I think are safeties are better in run defense than pass coverage. I’m expecting our younger players to create more turnovers in the secondary than the current crew. I also believe...

Even with great coaching, I’d expect The muff rule is one of the most frustrating. At the very least they should add something like “a muffed punt resulting in a touchback will be not be advanced beyond the point of initial touch” I’m not sure why the last touchdown was luck. Sanders beat the...
  12. Team Improvement

I think we all agree there are plenty of areas for improvement, but where have we seen the most improvement since 2019? I try not to think much about 2019 but we’ve definitely improved. I feared for James Graham when he dropped back to pass in 2019, and even though the OL isn’t a strength I...
  13. Sims=Bilbo

I often feel we are too quick to judge Sims and the coaching of Sims. I never felt like he was a polished super star QB coming out of high school who would immediately dominate college football, but he has a lot of potential to be a really good College QB. Sims would have benefited greatly to...
  14. Recruiting or coaching

It’s always both. Poor coaching can take a talented team and produce poor results. Good coaching can elevate lesser talent especially when you have an experienced team. It’s hard to be consistently great without talent because other coaches will figure out your schemes and their more talented...
  15. Opposing fan perspective

I definitely want to know number 3. I hadn’t heard that on number 6 but some of the fans do hate Collins. I know tech had a new player at left guard who missed a few blocks early in the game that lead to the ints which could have impacted some of the RPO and run game calls.
  16. #PittvsGT Postgame

After watching the replay on the first pick, the left guard definitely missed picking up the block on the stunt. The defensive end shouldn’t be that deep into the backfield to tip that throw. On the second interception you could argue he held the ball too long but the OL didn’t help. I didn’t...
  17. Gameday!!!!!

I’m fully prepared to see ups and downs on turnovers this season, but the defense needs to perform better than they’ve shown. I saw a post that we are down a few OL this game and we have people playing guard for the first time this year. Who is playing OL today?
  18. Seriously....who else we gonna beat?

We’ve played really well since the fumbled mesh in the NIU game. Still not convinced NIU caught the two point conversion.
  19. #GTvsCLEM Postgame

Agree, we don’t have the offense or personnel to drive that distance in 7 seconds but Gibbs could have picked up 20 to to 30 yds on the return. I still don’t think Yates had the arm for a Hail Mary even from the tech 45 but I have to think we have one or two who do on the bench. Either way...
  20. #GTvsCLEM Postgame

From TV it did look like Choice was on Gibbs for missing a block based on their hand gestures or I could be completely wrong. I don’t think Clemson manhandled one running back versus the next, they were just in our backfield the entire game. Mason and Gibbs were both under 3.0 yd/carry.
