Good post SOWEGA! Especially the modern era part. Winning a NATTY is one thing at factories, but it is most definitely a much much bigger accomplishment since the late sixties at GT. Doing so >>> his number of years here. Dodd was smarter than most (ask Bear), Johnson had his unique system (ask...

What planet are you from? Ross very well may have been the hardest working coach we have ever had. Luck? Ask Nebraska's defense with EIGHT NFL draftees on it in '90 if luck was involved in their Citrus Bowl spanking.

Geesh, do you have any knowledge whatsoever of what he inherited and how the players revolted against a REAL coach.

MY gawd, this is easily the sickest most pathetic post I've seen on here, and I'm old as hell.

What do you predict for GT 2021 wins?

Good post Ghost. I fear 4 wins will be a LOT like 3. The momentum will be lost and the boo birds will chirp. I picked 6 because Pitt, BC, UVA, and VT are not world beaters. That's ASSuming we don't trip over KSU or Duke. We should at least surprise someone like Miami or unc. Speaking of unc, it...

Where we might lose Coach Collins.

Met her a number of times. Very sharp, helpful, professional, and nice. She's also why I sat on the 47 yard line in upper east for a few decades.

Where we might lose Coach Collins.

Colorado's post I was responding to for starters. Currently we face a huge challenge, but in the early 80's we faced a death sentence. Kinda like facing a broken leg vs brain cancer. One is a LOT bigger issue than the other, even though they don't have a lot in common.

Where we might lose Coach Collins.

Many of us wrote letters encouraging them to come and Petit wasn't happy with us either. augusta might have made a typo. What I can tell you again, is the topic of dropping D-1 football was real, and that Petit thought football was the outhouse vs the front porch of the Institute. I've said...

Where we might lose Coach Collins.

I can assure you that it was more than a notion in '80 and '81. It even made the Urinal and was an occasional tailgate discussion. We can Thank God for Homer and holding off on the introduction of the internet.

Where we might lose Coach Collins.

True, he and certainly Homer Rice saved GT football from becoming Furmanish. The state of the early 80's for GT football should give some perspective to the current greatest transition in the history of CFB pundits.

    Expectations for GT Football

Nebraska put eight starters on D that game into NFL! I think 3-4 were 1st rounders, and yet we destroyed them.

    Expectations for GT Football

Yes, plus we would have had September to gel and we are not going to be exceedingly young. If we are not shooting ourselves in the foot with penalties and turnovers, and we can manage to game prep at a high level and manage the clock, we have a shot at 3 wins in October.

Augusta, your last sentence is the answer to what we all want to know so badly about the future---much more so than 4 vs 6 wins.

This--This--This!!! POTT! Which is exactly what I am looking for mid-Oct to Nov 2021. 5th year as a HC and this is what will tell us that good days are ahead, or we are in deep caca, even with top 25 recruiting classes.
