    coaching 'staff' comparisons

The players I talked to loved PJ. And how many of them thanked him for showing them how to be better in all facets of life when he announced he was stepping down. and all the guys I knew who played for him at Southern loved him and loved playing for him. Collins has yet to face any adversity...

    coaching 'staff' comparisons

we won't know until we actually start playing games. but I will trade on what a high school coach told me. he was impressed with the energy and attitude the new staff has. but, as he said, if they don't win, it all comes off as just gimmicks.

    Chris Landry on 680

First, who's Chris Landry? Second, I'll type this slowly so some of y'all can get a better grasp on it. For one thing, few of the guys on the current offensive roster played spread option in high school, i.e., they may have played triple the last 2-3 years of their careers but played in an...

Does anyone know if all of the former coaching staff got hired somewhere?

Wasn’t Pelton gone before the 18 season anyway?

Two must-read stories in the AJC

The search committee had 3 criteria to meet: 1. Ability to relate to 18 year olds 2. Understand Georgia Tech 3. Be of high character and class CGC hit those marks

    Attrition and Scholarship Limits

I have it on very good source that Collins has been told that Tech will not retreat one step from its standards. Ostensibly, that means academic. But it also could mean more than that, i.e., we're going to remain above the processing crowd.

Coaching Acumen of the Previous Staff...

Some of PJ’s adjustments also came before the game Take a look at 2016 COFH. When we ran true triple, we had the play side tackle blocking the corner back, instead of the tackle going upfield Klock got a big block to spring Qua on his big run and got in the way of the CB when CL went all...

Coaching Acumen of the Previous Staff...

Lost the team? Maybe, but not the 3-9 year. Injuries were a culprit, not chemistry Maybe more like 2010. Because there were chemistry problems, and not from Royer the Destroyer, from the beginning of the season

    Dedrick Mills

I wouldn’t say PJ gave up Marshall. He liked MM’s big play capability But you have to hang on to the ball and you’ve got to block DM had MM on both of those, I think

    Dynamic Duo true frosh impact

as a gamebreaker and big play guy, quite possibly. But Bebe and Brown are two very different receivers. Bebe can outmuscle defenders. Brown just isn't going to be able to do that. You can throw it to Bebe and he can stiff arm a guy and go bye bye. Brown will have to shake and bake his way to...

    Time to face facts

oh I enjoyed my share of Natty Light back in the day when I barely had two nickels to rub together. But Stroh's (anybody remember that?) ... no thanks. one of the worst I ever had. I once asked Erk what kind of cigars he smoked. He said "OPs." Me: "OPs?" Erk: "Other people's." Though years ago...

    2019 Offseason Thread

I met Richt a few times. He was OK ... for a Mutt. some other folks I know speak highly of him. If he does provide analysis on Tech games, the new offense would probably more to his liking. If we had stayed triple, he would have been at a loss to explain anything, other than it beat him twice...
