GT Fans,
We've all had many spirited discussions on here about the state of GT Athletics funding, or rather the lack thereof, and how we have fallen behind our competition. Well, now is the time for each of us to do what we can to change that.
A friend and I have created a site (with the help...
out of about 140k living alums, only about 7k (5%) give to athletics, as opposed to close to 40k giving to the school.
it’s not that GT folks aren’t generous, they just aren’t giving to athletics, and the GTAA has done a terrible job of reaching out.
of course they are a party to it. They made him a loan to take care of it. He is the GT AD. It’s in GT’s best interest for this to get settled ASAP, especially with all the crap that just happened recently under Peterson.
Bottom line is I was wondering if anyone on here knows if it’s being...
with a sad figure of 5%, I wouldn’t assume that.
The GTAA has done a pitiful job of reaching out. They’ve pretty much just kept going back to the same small group of wealthy guys for a long time. That is going to change.
i can answer the first one. Give. Whatever amount you can. Only about 5% of GT alums give to GT Athletics. More Wake Forest (a school with 3,000 students) alums give to WF than GT alums to GT. That’s pitiful, and it’s why we are in the shape we are in.
because y’all know enough to know:
what was called
Did we actually run what was called
Where the breakdown was
What D we were facing (would a more experienced QB have checked to a better play)
It’s not an all or nothing deal. Of course coaching matters. But if you’re weighing recruiting and coaching, I’d put recruiting 60-65% and coaching 35-40%.
