After rewatching the 4th quarter. I was so impressed with the oline. I have disparaged the oline, but they were amazing throughout the 4th even with all the injuries. Getting the late TD and a late 3rd down conversion was so impressive. The right side in my opinion won the game. Hats off...
I am in the Key camp. Key has beaten more ranked teams in a partial season than the previous coach. He deserves a serious look and chance. With third and fourth string quarterbacks and an injury ridden oline.
Did I understand correctly form one of Key's comment that D Smith was healthy for the first time in a while? Maybe that is why we have not seen him get as many carries the past few games. I think he is the best option at running back and hope to see him get more carries.
Did the FSU players have vaseline on their uniforms? Many missed tackles that looked like the FSU players just "slipped" through the defender.
Not sure I can believe the defense has improved after today's game.
I'm feeling good about Saturday. Time for a Cinderella story. Defense continues to improve. Special teams comes together. Backup quarterback comes in and has the game of his life. Tech wins the turnover margin. Has fewer penalties. And looks good overall.
The game against UVa was a...
It is not lunacy, and yes I want our coaches to play the best players. The coaches may be gone but in game experience is something every player needs. Put the best player in at each position. I expect that is what this staff is doing.
I had 137 on ignore but after this tread had to unignore. During the fall scrimmage Gibson looked decent and made some impressive throws. Did not perform well in his debut. I think he is/was the best to replace Sims.
During the game there was one wildcat play. In the stands we were saying...
Agree that this game will be another barometer of the "new" team under Key. Am actually anxious about the game and see if there is upward momentum.
Am regretting moving down to the club level. The seats are not nearly as good for viewing as the east upper deck.
Most on this forum did not get to see Jones play. His play the National Championship year was stellar. His being voted in the HOF is well deserved. Hamilton was also great with the tutelage of Fridgen, but Jones is arguably the best QB Tech has had play. Just my opinion.
I was at the game...
I said early on that Smith was going to get 1,000 yards this season. Not sure what happened, perhaps he is dinged up. But to my eye, he has been the hardest and best getting the tough yards. I'm not the coach so my opinion does not matter. Still hope he gets more carries this season.
Lucius Sanford and Mackel Harris were awesome back in the 70s. There was a play against Duke where Sanford had the hardest and loudest hit I can recall on the Duke quarterback. Thought the QB may never get up. There were some studs amongst us old guys.
If Key takes this team to a bowl and wins I will vote for him to be President. Seriously. Two weeks ago folks on this forum were looking for one more win. I have ragged Key for the poor play on the OL but his success as HC cannot be overlooked. There are 3 more wins possible and even a decent...
