Our bread and butter play, the BB dive lost too much yardage which puts us in a hole and behind schedule. Not a knock on anyone or any position but this seemed to happen quite a bit this year. 2nd and 11/12 is knocking us off schedule. Give me the 2nd and 6/7 and we will win 90% of the time.
You're certainly entitled to your opinion but from my perspective and many others.....they quit. You can talk all that $hit about respect and playing hard all you want to...but this team lacked leaders that demonstrated leadership by play....not just their mouth.
This offense needs N-S runners....not E-W. Thats what made 2014 so special. Those guys hit it and hit it hard. 2-3 yard gain > 2 yard loss. Too much lost yardage to go with too many turnovers = losing all the close games.
QB runs too much and he misses too many pitches IMO. That takes away our ability to have a big play. Our AB's are pretty much non existent. It's really become the TM show. Hard to win playing "backyard" football.
I'm not sure JD was faster through the mesh than ZL. Didn't ZL have like 1 neg carry in his career and only 2 fumbles in 300+ carries? Dude always picked up a few yards.
I think Howard might have a fumbling problem. However, I don't think it's any worse than Benson's. GT can't afford to lose possessions, especially to teams with Clemson's talent.
We started 5-0 that year and that was with a new starting QB and the Oline wasn't that good early on in the season. The difference was IMO leadership and the attitude that they weren't going to be denied when it came to crunch time.
It's hard to say anything went our way in 2014 against UGAG or VT. 2 BS fumbles and a blocked extra point in OT could have prevented us from winning in Athens. Against VT IIRC didn't their QB pick up a ball and run 30 yards for a TD when the RB fumbled? This loss sucks! We let them off the...
So sorry for your loss. It's never easy losing a parent. She sounded like a wonderful mother and a very wise woman. Prayers for your comfort during this difficult time.
