Fair enough. I just get the feeling watching the game that UNC should be able to win this game going away based on the infamous, and quite questionable, 'eye-ball test'. :)
We all know that the narrative will be "Wow! Syracuse is really good on defense! Look what they did to the juggernaut UNC offense!"
I was looking at some land in NC this past week, but I don't think I could stand all the Tarholes.
Seriously though, it's a real sloppy game. It seems that UNC...
Congratulations! You now are holding the thing that will give you some of the greatest pleasures and frustrations of your life! But the pleasures will out-weigh the frustrations for sure :)
So, are you going to name him after the player who gets the first touchdown or the first interception?
If it wouldn't hurt Sims feelings so much to not get the start if he earned it, I think at this point I'd make sure the first play was anyone but Sims just to make the press wrong...again. :) But that's just me, and I am certainly not the person who you'd put in charge of either keeping good...
Of course we should play the games. I was just being silly. Although, a team could game the system by choosing to not play a particular game citing 'Health concerns' if they so chose. It's just a strange dang year in so many ways. I never knew how much things being 'normal' would be missed, but...
Oh, then that makes it easy then. We just refuse to play teams that are sure to beat us and only play the games we have a shot at. Then our winning percentage will be above 50% and we'll get to go to a bowl. We don't want teams to be punished by refusing to play, after all!
Evidently we got a very small refund in Spring, but my kid lives in a slum-lord house. I think the refund was like $100 or something. :/ Somehow I never heard about it...I guess it bought beer.
Yes, but in the mean-time they got their money for the dorms, food programs and the professor's were able to rent out their slum-lord houses just off-campus.
But all Tech kids are covered under the umbrella health insurance policy that students get, right? Or, at least, my kid is covered for health care costs.
THIS. I've been in some high-level corporate discussions related to COVID-19. It's all about the liability, no matter how much we dress it up as safety. We are living the nightmare created over the past 40 years of the growth of our litigious society, which itself stems from a severe lack of...
Yep, that's the new thinking. Racism is this era's communism. It reminds me of the era when even asking the question if a person's association with someone who once read Marx really makes them a communist implicates the asker of the question as a communist. I'm sure some people reading this will...
I disagree given the thread topic. It is hardly possible to discuss a political action taken by the coaching staff without discussing the politics a little bit. But whatever.
I must admit, I'm curious why you have a pseudonym given your strong feelings on the subject. You clearly...
The issue is that this topic is inherently about the intersection of sports and politics. So it's pretty much impossible to talk about the topic without tip-toeing the line or having such a superficial conversation that it's hardly worth the pixels and certainly not worth the time.
