There are expectations and hopes. I hope MJ has a breakout year then all will be well. I also hope the Morgan twins become strong backups. I expect Cottrell, Simmons and Harvin to break out this year.
Agree he is very talented and been willing to play wherever he is needed and you want to see a guy like that get some significant playing time. He and guys like Marcus Allen are so important to a team both for their play and also the team first attitude.
Wow! I guess this is a good way to prepare them for the real world. The world of a fry cook is going to be stressful enough. I hope they are down by 21 points to us in the 4th quarter this year and ask CPJ for some points to reduce the stress they are feeling. I am sure he will accommodate them.
He often seemed to back off a yard or two more than what seemed necessary. Maybe he felt it gave him more room to use his exceptional quickness or provided an extra second for the pitch decision however I think being closer can put more pressure on the defense.
Now that my home office is in Raleigh and we have plenty of obnoxious UNC and Duke grads, they are higher on my hate list. Actually I would prefer we just didn't lose to anyone this year.
There are always a dozen things or more that can go wrong for us...or them. Despite the fears, I am more optimistic this year than at least the last 5 years and I plan on staying that way as long as possible. A bad year would therefore probably hurt more, but there is no need to suffer now for...
Have to say that hearing about the performance of the freshman in camp is one area I always look forward to. It is great to see impressive high school tape but the transition to college is a huge one that some players can't make successfully. It is especially great to hear in camp from the...
The Colorado team should have lost 2 games (5 downs) and tied one. They weren't exactly world beaters and we dominated Nebraska. If I recall correctly after the game Tom Osborne said we were the best team they played. That is good enough for me.
Doesn't make much sense to me that Northwestern, Memphis, San Diego State and Appalachian State would get more votes than us but if we win our first game that will probably change. As GTech63 stated preseason polls have little value.
In this case carrying out the fake just a couple more steps would not have led to him being hit. Imho the value of a deceptive quarterback is underrated. Defensive players have to make quick decisions on the inf they have and often have an obscured view of the ball. They are coached to play...
Keeping injuries to a minimum is always a huge factor. We seem to have better depth but we need players like the Morgan twins to become strong backups to keep us going through times when starters get dinged up during the season.
As has been mentioned, JeT was not very consistent with carrying out his fakes and I wonder if #34 would have been delayed a step getting to Mills if he had.
All I can think of after reading this thread is how I wish I had enough money to be a bag man (not that I would give away the money if I had it). Must be nice to have so much money that you can buy cars etc for kids you barely know. Just received a tuition bill from Clemson (my daughter) and all...
Speaking of incoming freshman like Hansen, I can't wait to hear which of them are standing out after camp gets started. Hope their are several surprises and the Swillings are as good as everyone hopes.
