Why do we stay with Russell Athletic?

Russell just doesn't have the connections and pull that the other sports apparel companies do. If we switched to any of the others I believe it would give us a shot at a much broader range of athletes. Having better looking uniforms would just be a byproduct of the switch IMO.

    Coaches on the Hot Seat

Some coaches want the path of least resistance. DePaul plays in a much easier conference than us. Coming into the ACC and coaching a team not named Duke, UNC, Louisville, Syracuse... might be looked as a negative now days. If you can go to DePaul and win 20+ games you have a much better shot at...

    CBG buyout = $2.4 million

Well I think GT had more leverage than CBG. If you aren't showing much improvement and players are transferring or being kicked off the team... that doesn't scream leverage to me. I understand that this season hadn't happened yet and hindsight is 20/20 but most people could see we werent a very...

    CBG buyout = $2.4 million

THIS^^^^ If you have to fire a coach, you'll have to pay the buyout. Not many coaches out there that don't have atleast 3 years left on their contract. I just don't see the reason for upping the buyout when doing the extension. Should have negotiated a lower buyout in exchange for more years IF...

    CBG buyout = $2.4 million

I'd like to hear RamblinReds thoughts on the AJC report about the buyout.

    Who do we hire?

I'm pretty sure he was referring to the brand and style CBG likes to play. Its very bland and not very creative. We don't force TOs or fastbreak very often. The offensive end if self explanatory... Awful.

    CBG buyout = $2.4 million

I really hope he didn't do that. When the coach is in no position to demand ANYTHING... Why would you concede of the price of a buyout? That makes absolutely zero business sense. If CBG doesn't like what you have to offer... then let him walk and find another job and get your new coach last...

    CBG buyout = $2.4 million

I spoke nothing of LazyAD... and I figured someone would find the 1 example of a player improving some, to discredit my point. Daniel Miller improved a good ammount... but how much of that can be credited to CBG? When all the other players have been stagnant for the most part? I don't mind who...

    CBG buyout = $2.4 million

This is the MAIN reason we can't afford to keep Gregory around. Recruiting under CBG hasn't been great. Neither has player development. Id rather take a shot on a new guy being better at both of these criteria, than giving Gregory another shot to screw it up and set us back tremendously. We're...

    CBG buyout = $2.4 million

Does this make a huge difference in our coaching decision?? That's all I want to know. I couldn't see Bobinski coming in and giving him an extension without some kind of out for well under performing.

I'm watching it since the Hawks didn't show up tonight. VT looks well coached and all players seem to have these things called skills.

    Who do we hire?

I think this head coaching search may come down to who's the most interested and how strong we feel this year's class of available coaches is. If Mbob feels that none of the interested candidates r of the caliber he thinks GT deserves.. We may hire an older coach who's a proven winner and could...

    Coaches on the Hot Seat

We have to find a diamond in the rough coach. The big schools are gonna get the top of the heap type coaches. Nobody and I repeat nobody is looking to come to GT before any other school. Keeping Gregory is not an option, we all agree. The difference in these coaches and Gregory when we hired him...

    Coaches on the Hot Seat

MBob can't afford to miss on this hire. I'm sure he's been his homework. I wouldn't let money be an issue. Gotta get a good recruiter and an intense coach like Tony Bennett.

I agree 100%. We don't have the talent to compete with UNC, UVA, Duke... but we should be able to beat the bottom feeders and the teams in the middle of the pack every so often. We lost to BC×2, VT, WF, and Clemson. That's really sad.

Gotta coach that killer instinct into the team. They relax when they get a lead. Every single time. They tighten up and play not to lose. Just like prevent defense in football. That's not gonna get you very far at all in a tournament. No way in hell we should have lost that game. Too many bone...

Here we go with our predictability. Making passes just to make them instead of for functionality.

Good point. Double edged sword type deal. Yes we would have had more possessions without the INTs but... You can't say we wouldn't have turned the ball over or been shut down on those other drives either.

    If We Beat FSU

Whatever bowl came after the Orange would have chosen FSU. But if we beat FSU in a close game.... I think they would have still made it in.

    Thumping my own chest!!

WR is my #1 concern on offense. If JHD is eligible next season I'll be less concerned about the DT spot... but as of this moment, I am very concerned as to how we will replace Green.
