I remember a Textiles College in the early seventies that offered Textile Chemistry, Textile Engineering, and I think a BS Textiles degree. It was considered the easiest degree at GT.
The only other places I remember in that area along North Ave. was to the west which included Stan's Sandwich Shop, the YMCA, and Engineer's bookstore. I never heard of a place called the armpit.
In the summer of 1968 when I arrived, Engineer's Book Store was located a couple of blocks west on North Avenue and the pictured book store was a laundry mat. That was Junior's location for my time at Tech.
I guess I went to its second location. Tech Motel and a laundry mat were in the same strip, but I forget the orientation of the shops. I don't remember anything at the corner of North Avenue and Techwood Drive but Techwood Dorm and its parking lot.
Choke it was to smother with onions usually on a 10 oz burger steak. If you ordered the burger steak with onions and the top two sides on the list, in my day, Percy or Turner would say Top Two Ten Choke It.
Sorry I responded to the wrong post
Good that much is behind us. Still two assistant coaches are gone. Replacements appear to be of lesser expertise. Time will tell. Recruiting probably took a hit. Again time will tell. I am certainly happy this is over, but I doubt we come out of this unscathed.
