The “surrounding him with million dollar coordinators” thing really underestimates the market. We’re paying Chip Long $1.65/2 years. South Carolina pays their DC, a guy named Clayton White, $1.1million. Michigan State pays their TE coach $900k. A million bucks gets you adequate coordinators...
Depends on if Satterfield holds this class together. It might end up a top 15 class and the best class they have had by a massive margin. That 5 star RB might be decommitting soon though.
A million or two gets you the staff we have right now. $800k for OC Chip Long and $650k for RGC Brent Key $450k for DC Thacker. Arkansas is paying $3million just for two coordinators. Odom was the 6th highest paid assistant in the country last year and most of the guys ahead of him are head...
Pittman has a DC that is paid $1.75 million and an OC that is paid $1.2 million and he himself can recruit and coach the heck out of an OL. We don't have to kind of money to hire a figurehead recruiter like Prime and get P5 head coach level candidates at coordinator. We apparently are arguing...
He wasn't intentionally getting @ed though, the original tweet had him tagged so it acts as a "reply all" when you reply to the school's tweet. You have to manually untag the person when you reply so it wasn't really malicious or people actively trying to make him feel bad. I thought the...
Butch said cringy things so people dunk on him a lot for it and for going winless in the SEC his last year. Still got UT to back-to-back 9 win seasons and the only coach to do it since Fulmer in 07 so it goes to show you how much perception matters and highlights a good reason to move on from...
Yeah you don't leave a P5 program you rebuilt for another P5 rebuild unless it's a blueblood and you think you can win a title there or get a massive pay check from them. That's also why I don't think Kansas's coach leaves for Nebraska.
They do get the free year but UCF lists third year players as Jr for example instead of Sophomore like we do. They use a “5th year” designation to list the seniors who are using their extra year.
It is a little misleading because of the COVID year. We count the guys from the 2020 class as Sophomores even if they are in their third year because the Covid year is a free year. Jordan Williams for example would be a Junior by experience and Vaipulu would be a R-So.
If you believe the rumors he is miserable in Oxford, and supposedly the buyout on his end isn't very big if he leaves. UCLA might come knocking now that they have Big10 money coming in soon and got that Under Armour settlement.
Elko was a great DC and their OC has a pretty elite pedigree having been OC under Kevin Wilson, Kliff Kingsbury, and Mike Norvell. He hasn't really had a chance to do his own thing because all those guys run their own offenses, but on paper that guy should be a great one if he learned anything...
The media is an important thing to consider since it seems The Brand is something TStan has been passionate about. With Nebraska specifically I noticed it was all jokes and people dunking on them about how bad Frost was. Since he's been fired I've seen several articles about Urban Meyer rumors...
Dabo and the ref laughing at Collins lack of timeouts before the half and now this with Kiffin. I don’t think I’ve ever seen a coach get treated like a child by other coaches before.
Chadwell has an all-world QB for his offense right now. He’s 8-16 without Grayson McCall at Coastal. Way too big of a gamble unless we want to wait a year and see how he does with a different QB.
Army's problem this year is the defense, and they are getting killed with depth/conditioning on that side. Close games against CCU and UTSA that dropped 400-500 yards on them and they pulled away in the 4th quarter. The rules haven't killed the flex by any means.
He also turned a 4-7 Florida team into a 10-3 team his first year and 11-3 his second. That’s what we need, if he starts going downhill we can always fire him assuming we don’t sign him to a 7 year contract like Geoff. If we were sitting at 8-10 wins a year right now I’d agree with you, but the...
Mullen’s biggest flaw at UF was his awful defense and letting boosters mess with his team if you believe the rumors. He is a jerk and he isn’t charming or charismatic, but he isn’t exactly going to be under a media spotlight or have schmooze boosters at Tech.
I agree, but it is always tough to evaluate a first year OC in this mess. Kendal Briles offense did not look great the one year he was at FSU where the HC got fired but everyone thinks he’s a genius at Arkansas. I don’t think Lincoln Riley would be able to scrape together a winning product in...
