I don't know if he meant to leave it short or not but a lot of QB coaches teach kids that an overthrow is incomplete 100% of the time while an underthrow gives the receiver a chance to make a play or get an interference call. It was his first throw ever also I believe.
I was at the game and have not watched the film but CPJ said in the press conference after the game that they were pinching on the DL and scraping which is a common way to play the veer. Of course the counter option slows down the Mike backer so although we want the
tackle to get to Mike there...
It's ridiculous that anyone has an opportunity to "vote" on who they think is better than someone else. What is this gymastics? Are we dependent on the vote of the Russian judge? Polls are unamerican. The czars at secspn are keeping down the masses (everyone except the SEC and Notre Dame). It's...
JHD hopefully will continue to improve his pass rush technique. Right now he is being blocked one on one.
This is a play that not only allows us to take advantage of a great athlete at B back but also is a real key breaker in the offense. It's great to be able to run it.
After watching only parts of the ND game yesterday I believe it will come down to how our D does against the run. If we put it in the hands of their QB we have a good chance of winning. Make the QB beat us with his arm or legs.
VA has alot of talent but y'all know he is still a freshman playing in his first college game. He'll be fine, he was just a little lost. The game will slow down for him. If the coaches didn't think he could contribute this year he would have never played last night but would have been...
I've watched the game twice now without a lot of rewinding and I would grade the perimeter blocking at about a B. I'm expecting improvement in the next game from some of the younger guys. I couldn't fault Jeune on the TD run Willis just ducked up inside. There are some really good young athletes...
I think the point is everyone works against their own offense during spring and camp. People like Arbuckle are saying our defense is limited because they practice against our offense. We work against scout just like everyone else does. Every body gets better at stopping their own offense. I...
Exactly how it works. If the QB calls "opposite" the defense doesn't know the opposite of what. As soon as they think they have it figured out whoops touchdown. It only takes one.
