    Qua Searcy - GoFundMe

Qua isn’t the benchmark neither was Dwyer when he left and entered the draft. I’m saying he should’ve put in more work over 5 years instead of trying to raise money to hire private trainers to make his body “pro ready” in 3 months. I’m saying Quas physical development is more of an indictment on...

    Qua Searcy - GoFundMe

I think its weird but I don't think its solely a S&C issue. It seems like an accountability and leadership issue. Our players have to put in the work and take it seriously. At many of these big time programs, they push their players to train year round, non stop. Sure, they need to spend less...

    Potential Head Coach Hires

I guess you could say I have “bigger fish to fry”

    Potential Head Coach Hires

Heard from a very reliable source that Collins will be announced today. Sounds like the cat is already “out of the bag”, but I’m glad it’ll get done today prior to this big recruiting weekend. The source works for a recruiting firm that specializes in coaches.

Ken Wisenhunt to Interview this weekend per NFL League resources

If Todd starts with "NFL experience and connected to this school", he's working his way right to Whisenhunt which I think is horrible. It's a self-fulfilling prophecy. Todd: "OK search committee, I'm looking for a head coach with NFL experience, played here at Tech, last name begins with a 'W'...

    Potential Head Coach Hires

I think we have to hire a head coach that’s a known expert on either side of the ball. We can’t have a ceo style coach. We don’t have the money to do so unless we get a super cheap ceo type / recruiter coach (free up money to surround him w stud OC and DC, a la Dabo when he got promoted) I...

    Paul Johnson to retire

I'll say this though, to follow up on my last post, I would be pretty heartbroken if he retires then comes back out of retirement and leads another team. Ugh, that would suck.

    Paul Johnson to retire

Every CPJ supporter should be OK with how this went down (if this is in fact true). I'm confident TStan wasn't pressuring CPJ to retire. This is a decision that's probably best for him, and his mental health. The guy has earned going out on his own terms, and I believe he's doing so. I don't...

    Paul Johnson to retire

Love the option too, and no a "pro style" offense isn't the answer. We clearly need to remain in a spread option type offense. Very few teams actually run a pro style offense in college. We had zero success under Gailey doing a kinda sorta NFL style.

    Paul Johnson to retire

That would be insane, and hard to believe. However, we have some good looking QBs that would fit his system well. Graham, Johnson, and Yates coming in...

    Paul Johnson time frame.

Paul should and will go on his own terms. I'll say this though, he has seemed little more whiny (some on here say he's telling it like it is), a bit more sharp with the media, and generally pretty worn out. The guy has enough money and reputation to retire and go down as one of the greats, of...

Don't forget what happened to the roster

Yes, that was a tired comment in the chat yesterday. The weight thing is over done. Now, the eye test isn’t and we look not only smaller but decidedly less athletic and strong. That is cause for concern.

Surprised nobody mentioned the loss of aj grey. That was a huge loss for our defensive backfield.

Film Study Def. Film review vs. UVA

If Showell and Bonds are good enough to see the field at safety, we should consider moving a few current safeties inside. I’d take a Carpenter, J.Thomas, or Oliver at LB. all three have the frame to put on some more weight, the speed, but most importantly they all like to hit people and play...

Film Study Def. Film review vs. UVA

At the risk of being a Debbie downer, I’m not sure if we’ve demonstrated we can develop LBs the way some of our competitors have done so. That’s not to say we haven’t had some instinctual LBs that were impactful, I just haven’t seen our guys grow and improve year to year. Hell, I’d argue 51s...

Film Study Def. Film review vs. UVA

Our young DBs give me hope for the future, safeties in particular. As to the ILB, well, I’ve made my point in the chat during the game. I’ve never seen a 4 year starter consistently overrun tackles and/or sacks. I hope Quez fulfills his potential and Swilling can put it together. I think our...

Linebacker speed or lack of is an issue

Sorry I guess I was confused when you said: “But.... Swilling to start in place of Curry”

Linebacker speed or lack of is an issue

Curry is suspended the first half. Not saying Swilling shouldn't be starting, but don't look at that as necessarily an indication that he jumped Curry due to performance.

    CPJ Press Conference #ALCNvsGT

CPJ will win no awards for how he handles the press. 50 years ago, nobody would care. Unfortunately, today people do care how the coach (CEO) represents the program in public. It's unfortunately a part of the job and in large part why a head coach 50 years ago toes would curl if they saw modern...

    2018 Off Season Thread

I hate seeing it. Unfortunately most of those Dads are the ones who think they could've made it if they "applied themselves", "didn't get hurt", etc. In short, they're living through their kids. The best thing I found with most young kids in coaching is to get them to love the sport first and...
