So when coach talks about players seeing who is playing and plays best, he's referring to last season ?

"I may not tell them (the team), but they will know before kickoff," Johnson said. "I think they've figured it out and they see who plays and who is playing the best. They are not dumb." How anyone could think that describes Jordan is beyond me, he's hardly practiced since last fall. What has...

JT could make the throws and had the timing and the arm to complete intermediate routes effectively. His back shoulder throws to Smelter and Waller were outstanding. He was the first QB in CPJ's tenure that I didn't feel miserable in 3rd-long. I knew we had a real enough of a threat passing to...

good god, the mental acrobats with you and Matthew Jordan. haha, but in all seriousness, the dude was out for spring, knocked out of the scrimmage, didn't practice yesterday, didn't pass today...Maybe its time to open your mind to someone else under center opening night. I get lots of people...

    QB battle

Yea, I agree. I thought your point was, as touches increase in a death march so does the risk for "bad" things (negative plays, etc)? Like all things, a balance is preferable. I know 3.5/yards a play is a nice grind, but carving up some big chunks as well limits play count.

I've never understood the obsession with the death marches. I mean, when we're up by a score and have the ball late, sure let's draw it out and march down the field all slow like... Unfortunately for us, death marches have won us a few games because our defense can't hold it together. I hope...

    QB battle

What coach three weeks away from a huge opener against an SEC foe, wouldn't want to call the starter? Hell, if you polled any coach in the nation they'd want to have a firm, clear starter as early as possible. You'd have a guy get the majority of the 1 snaps, a player the team can rally around...

    QB battle

You've got a RS JR who has been the presumed starter during the offseason. The fact that we're a few weeks out of our game, and he's splitting reps with the 1s with at least two other QBs, I'd say that's a pretty clear indication that the job is open. In a perfect world, you'd have your starter...

Honest question, and I'm trying not to flame these fans further...but do you think MJ will start this entire season (barring an injury)?

    Scrimmage update

I think they all got snaps. I know tm and lj ran with 1s. After mj went out with his shoulder, he returned for one series and was out for good. So our "backups" got lots of work with the 1s.

I think they're both outstanding but lj has the edge. Good problem to have, the job may not be safe for a couple years.
