  1. Pitt - Final Series of Regular Season (Th/Fri/Sat)

If we string together two, and get in the winners bracket, then the opponent uses their third pitcher while we wait. Then it's all bullpen anyway.
  2. Pitt - Final Series of Regular Season (Th/Fri/Sat)

According to Wiley, if we win and UNC wins, we're matched up against Pitt for game one. Both scores held.
  3. 2022 ACC Baseball

We beat Miami 3-1 on Friday. That's the last time I remember winning a game that didn't involve a million runs.
  4. 2022 Season

RPI up to 23. We've done a lot to polish the resume, but a sweep tomorrow would be huge.
  5. 2022 ACC Baseball

How does the seeding work? What's the benefit to being 10th vs 7th? It just matches us up against a different top-4 seed, right? Out of L'ville, ND, Miami, and VT; I'd probably want to be in ND's pod.
  6. Pitt - Final Series of Regular Season (Th/Fri/Sat)

Well, threw more pitches called as balls than called as strikes. But that ump was a mess.
  7. Pitt - Final Series of Regular Season (Th/Fri/Sat)

Entirely more stressful than a 6-0 game has any right to be. But we won and the dukies lost, so our spot in the ACC tourney is secured. Win tomorrow!
  8. Pitt - Final Series of Regular Season (Th/Fri/Sat)

They've literally never finished ahead of us in the coastal standings. It would take a sweep this weekend (because of their one cancelled game), but we could keep that streak alive...
  9. Pitt - Final Series of Regular Season (Th/Fri/Sat)

    Game notes list Medich/Grissom/TBA
  10. If the ACC scraps divisions...

In the era we're in, where the only thing that matters is the playoffs, this is a good call. The PAC needs to do whatever they can to stay relevant late season, and this will certainly help. Look what the COVID year did, with Clemson and ND. More teams in contention late in the season = more...
  11. Pitt - Final Series of Regular Season (Th/Fri/Sat)

For at-large bids, wikipedia lists the berths in a chart at least for the past two seasons. You made me curious, so I scrolled through it. Last season LSU got in at 13-17. 2019 saw Auburn at 14-16, Florida at 13-17, TCU at 11-13, Tennessee at 14-16. So, SEC got some benefit of the doubt...
  12. Pitt - Final Series of Regular Season (Th/Fri/Sat)

Listening to the D1 baseball podcast this morning. They called this series big; could be an elimination series when it's all said and done, even if Pitt needs it more thanks to their RPI. "The team that loses that series is in trouble."
  13. Ohio Road Trip - Akron/Kent State

Maybe looking ahead to much, but what does this mean for our "weekend" rotation? I presume anyone who pitched yesterday is probably good to go Friday or Saturday. Anyone pitching today probably only good for Saturday?
  14. 2022 ACC Baseball

Good analysis. So, *theoretically* we could walk out of Pitt's turf nightmare field without a win and still make the ACC tourney? As I understand Fred's post: if GT wins 3-0, we're in if GT wins 2-1, we're in if GT loses 1-2, and Wake gets swept OR tarheels lose the series OR clemson doesn't...
  15. 2022 Season

I don't know, how did aTm do it? They're not shying away from the reason publicly. They're gaming the RPI and admitting it.
  16. Projected NCAA Baseball Regional Brackets

Playing local Georgia teams helps Southern's RPI quite a bit. But if you look deeper, they're 7-11 in Q1 games. I'm not sure they'll get real consideration for a host spot.
  17. If the ACC scraps divisions...

How many mid major teams bemoan their schedules? "We're playing everyone we can, but no one wants to schedule us!" We have opportunities against top teams that 75% of the country would kill for. It's time to stop blaming the tough schedule and find ways to return to glory.
  18. 2022 Season

After GaSo, we now have the number 1 strength of schedule. I know, that's only partially relevant, but it's still kinda cool. Maybe that "battle worn" attitude takes us far into the postseason.
  19. Ga Southern - Final Home Game

I generally feel the same way. I felt really good before the Clemson series, and I have a hard time letting one bad weekend completely change my opinion of the team.
  20. If the ACC scraps divisions...

I doubt any of the North Carolina schools end up as anyone's permanent rival if we go to a 3-5-5 model. Between UNC, State, Duke, and Wake; they'd all be each other's 3 permanent rivals and rotate the rest. Other "obvious" pairings to me are teams like UVA and VT, old Big East rivals, and...
