    2018 Bowl Attendance Thread ....

I actually thought Tech had a little better showing at the QLB than Minnesota folks. I was quite surprised by the attendance at the Firebird. (Glad we got there early.) Thanks to the Detroit alumni who helped host that gathering.

Bowl game Uni.... some will need a suicide watch

I hear you, CHE and, to be clear, I don't care what we wear as long as we play well. And if we don't play well, it won't have anything to do with the uni's. But there are a lot of old guys who, come next Wednesday, won't care who is on their lawn because they'll be in Detroit cheering on those...

Bowl game Uni.... some will need a suicide watch

"You guys wanna wear alternate color pants and jersey? OK with me." (Said Nick Saban never.) I'm not really a fan of either blue jerseys or blue pants, but what I really want is to just win the game.

Quick Lane Bowl Alumni / Fan Gathering

They couldn't tell me for sure (not sure why, said it was to be allocated later - I guess by folks in Detroit) but I followed up with GTAA and was told it would likely be Section 106.

Quick Lane Bowl Alumni / Fan Gathering

Ordered tix this week. GTAA said it was too late to mail them & I could pick them up at Ford Field will call. After reading all this, I'm a little relieved that my tix aren't coming in the mail.

    Stansbury on 680 at 3:45pm

Regarding TStan's interview, on the subject of a potential new hire, he said exactly what he should have said in that situation, which was basically... nothing. That was the most intelligent and wise way to answer probing questions in a very public forum from two guys (one a GA fan, one an...

    Uga game roll call

Better for Towaliga to be there than me. I've been to 21 editions of COFH and have seen GT win just twice. Would be ecstatic with a win, but my expectations are muted. At least this year I think we are capable of winning.

    That was a horrible broadcast

During last week's ESPN broadcast and again during today's broadcast, it seemed that the sideline reporters were essentially the VT and UNC sideline reporters, respectively. (I don't recall a single update made from the GT sideline in either game.)

Fire Paul johnson for Taking Tobais Oliver out of the game

Feels just like after the Tennessee game. I do agree Oliver should have stayed in. Losing Benson was a big loss, though.

James Graham will use his redshirt this season

CPJ remembers arriving at GT to learn that Nesbitt's redshirt had been needlessly used the year before vs. VT. Wished he'd had #9 for one more year.

    QB Johnson injured - UPDATE

At a time like this, I think of Jay Jones' decision 8 months ago to transfer because he was #3 and didn't think he'd get to play QB. I also think of Marcus Marshall transferring because he was #2 behind Mills (who would never play another down for Tech). I sure didn't want to see those guys...

This should be a nice fun thread.

Many articles on FTRS seem to be nothing more than 'rewrites' of AJC articles. They let Ken Suguira do the work, then they slightly repackage it. Very little, if any, real news on FTRS. So..., to get more attention in the offseason, they have gone to opinion pieces like this. I'll give them...

Petition to stop noon home games

Win more games + better out of conference scheduling in September and maybe next year we won't have so many games @ 12:00.... It really comes down to GTFB working over time to make themselves marketable for TV. Nobody is more aware of that than TStan.

Outstanding Article on CFB, Atlanta, GT, & HBCU's

Good read (and I am a fan of Maisel's writing) but I must question the following: "...five years ago, when the Big Ten expanded to 14 teams, the league didn't take Rutgers until it had been turned down by Georgia Tech." Living in Big Ten territory, I had heard rumors about this, but I am...

    Rose Bowl

On the morning of January 1, I texted a fellow Tech man. Me: "Ethical question: Do you pull for UGA today?" His reply: "If you want to go to hell."

    2018 schedule

I wouldn't say Clem & Son are better than last year, but it certainly doesn't seem as though Bama is better than last year, plus they've had more injuries. So, I don't see playing Bama as a disadvantage for the Tigers. Besides, Clem & Son would rather travel to NOLA than LA, while Dawg fans are...

    TD Roof to Transfer

Indiana in the B16 is comparable to GT in the ACC, certainly in academic terms, but also in terms of football talent. I live not far from there, pay some attention to their program, and have gone to several of their games recently. When I read that TDR was transferring there, it made sense to me.
