  1. Dave Patenaude's Offense

I don't disagree with any of that. CDP is not above reproach either, let me make that clear. I guess my point is, just be patient. We'll know some more and get a clearer picture when Spring football rolls around.
  2. Brutal schedule / expectations

They were a good team. Point is, the unthinkable and unbelievable can be done. More than likely, our offense is going to look different. They're going to have ZERO tendencies to go off of. They're not going to have any tells from the OL- pretty much have all new guys there/guys returning from...
  3. Dave Patenaude's Offense

It's the typical guys belly-aching that the triple/CPJ is never coming back. They're going to do it until CGC wins significantly. The type that will secretly want Tech to lose just to show us "New Coachers" that we were wrong. CDP did what he could last year. Obviously the offense was below...
  4. Dave Patenaude's Offense

Newsflash, you can have those stats and still be considered bad at what you do. Those OL units sucked compared to say 08/09/10 and 14. As for your second point, it doesn't particularly matter how you feel about what was said. There are bigger things to juggle that take nuance and understanding...
  5. Collins on Packer and Durham this morning...

I don't buy this at all. We aren't guaranteeing wins in the sell, but I can guarantee you that we are selling the chance to compete for a spot in the CFP. That vibes with the not necessarily part of your post. The coaching staff now is more competitive than the last, by far.
  6. Brutal schedule / expectations

2011 team would like a word with you.
  7. Clarifying Linebackers

You want badasses that understand football. Go watch film from the guys in 06/07. Flying around, filling holes, shedding blockers, making the tackle, hands up when the ball comes their way on a pass play. Making the blocker pay for deciding to block them. The extra special guys can man up in...
  8. Clarifying Linebackers

This goes for a lot of positions. I think most importantly would be LB, QB, OL, in no order. Your comment reminds me of the play where Clay Matthews is screaming "Watch the wheel route, watch the wheel route" and Cam Newtown responds "Oh you been watch film too huh, that's cool, watch this." A...
  9. Collins on Packer and Durham this morning...

Guys haven't touched a football since the last game. Not really much to talk about except for workouts, recruiting, and off-season. Guarantee if this show was after Spring or during the season, there would be more in depth discussion of the game/games.
  10. Collins on Packer and Durham this morning...

@Vespidae is just hating to hate, and being a crotchety old man, without even having watched or listened. Pretty obvious on that front to anyone that listened. You guys have to realize that this is Packer and Durham Show, not Geoff Collins Show. He absolutely talks and owns things when it's...
  11. Brutal schedule / expectations

This man knows his football. We've got some toys to play with. We've got the OL coach to coalesce everything. Don't want to pump the hype train too much.
  12. Nate Cottrell...just a question, nothing bad

Yup- swing and a miss, sport.
  13. Brutal schedule / expectations

If our defense is any good this year we can win every game on the schedule, including Clemson.
  14. Fitness advice

I'm full of ideas. I lost a lot of weight after playing, the good way. Do you know your BMI? Can take it to DM's if you'd like
  15. Quarterback for next year

Team leaders must be consistent, players or coaches. Last year was full of hard decisions. Peanut sits Graham, clearly the best out of them all, then you got to start TO or LJ and that's a big old bag of YIKES. Glad that we have options now, I don't even want to bring up last year anymore...
  16. Fitness advice

Running is the WORST for losing weight. It's the hardest on the bones and joints, and you really don't get that much out of it as far as calorie expenditure. My advice for aging people is to weight lift, does not have to be much. You don't have to constantly be adding weight to get your gains...
  17. Quarterback for next year

I don't disagree with any of that. There's a kicker. Georgia Tech is a phenomenal school. We might not necessarily lose top talent if they've put in the work trying to get a degree from GT. 1 in 6 millionaire stat. Middle of the 2nd biggest city in the Southeast. I don't think it's a foregone...
  18. Quarterback for next year

I don't discount Yates despite my past critical posts on his HS film. I hope they all do great. They will all get a shot to showcase themselves. This QB battle won't be over until someone separates themselves and will extend into the future. Seriously, we could have Yates start this year and...
  19. Quarterback for next year

I just hope he practices and prepares with the same intensity each week, which is what he didn't do last year, admittedly.
  20. Quarterback for next year

We can and we might. Never know. Am I expecting it? Hell yeah I am. You play to win the game. I'm not lowering my standards even if it sets me up for disappointment.
