  1. CFP Discussion

When you say that computers / algorithms are better at picking the best teams, it begs the question: what do you mean by best teams? There are basically two ways to look at it; (1) best performance to date, or (2) predicted for the future. The models in (1) are still based on human inputs...
  2. Clemson favored early spread

I think we're alot better than we were early in the year, too.
  3. Haynes King Update: How Do We Feel About Him?

In fairness, this is most every QB in college except the very best. And Haynes is only a RS-sophomore. At this stage Joe Ham didn’t have stats this good. QBs can get better and learn, I think Haynes will do that.
  4. Potential DC for Next Year

He’s under a show-cause order through 2029 or something like that. If he takes a job at a school he is automatically suspended for a year.
  5. Early point spread against UNC

My score prediction is 35-24. I just don't know which team gets the 35.
  6. 2023-2024 ROSTER???

I’m going to formally request we not use BM in place of big man. BM means something else…
  7. 2023-2024 ROSTER???

I think those concepts are at a higher level than the offensive system, they are at a personal/player development level. Knowing your role vs knowing where you’re supposed to be on every play.
  8. ACC Tipoff 2023

Defense relies more on effective communication and teamwork, it doesn’t surprise me (or worry me) that we have work to do there.
  9. Early BC spread

This might be the closest you can get to an absolute truth in college football. The team that wins the turnover battle wins most of the time. If you look at our best teams over the past 25 years, I bet our turnover margin is pretty correlated with winning percentage.
  10. #GTvsMIA Postgame

Boy, that hug between Key and King.
  11. Haynes King Update: How Do We Feel About Him?

Every college QB forces throws. Look at Maye - he forces stuff all the time and makes plenty of ugly throws. It’s exceedingly rare to find a college QB that makes all the right reads and decisions.
  12. ACC Standings

Totally. I’m not following this at all. He’s won so much, it would take years of losing seasons to fire him.
  13. #GTvsMIA Postgame

This is the correct answer. That rule is for defenseless players sliding feet first.
  14. Let's keep some perspective here on our NEW HC

Ryan Day at Ohio State had less of a resume than Coach Key. He had a little more coordinator experience but less Asst HC experience. Not to mention the throngs of experienced coaches that sucked or were mediocre after getting hired.
  15. #GTvsMIA Postgame

This should be discussed more. My son and I agreed - that was a monster run, and just an amazing example of toughness.
  16. GT Hoops General Topics

This might be the best post on the board right now. I just got done being a juror in a Federal medicare fraud case, and bullet #6 applied to a few of the people in the courtroom.
  17. Worst coaching decision... ever?

    Win-Win-Win
  18. Brent Key is not the answer

Tackling was amazing, IMO. My bar may be set too low, though.
  19. Ok lets see who is honest.

I kept it on, although in all honesty I wanted to turn it off. I was watching with my 17-year-old son, and because he was with me I wanted to milk a few more minute out of my time with him. Really, really glad I did.
  20. #GTvsMIA Postgame

It was really the scramble drill, and Leary was crossing the field right to left and then pulled a u-turn just as the defender was reacting to King. Because we could tie it with a field goal, it makes sense that the safety would want to close down on a pass that would give us good field position.
