    Potential Head Coach Hires

I believe a Jeff Monken hire would result in sustained success using the current model. I saw with my own eyes how he came into a GSU program in shambles, with a roster not fit to run his scheme, and had instant sustained success. I also saw him experiment with some variations to the under...

    Paul Johnson to retire

Wow. Earlier in the season, I was honest on this board and shared my feelings that it was time for a change. I made it clear that my desire for change had nothing to do with offense or recruiting. It simply felt to me that CPJ was losing his edge. After our mid-season turnaround, I...

    Special Teams improvement in 2018

I saw marked improvement in ST this year, for sure. KO coverage absolutely killed us at USF (and had trouble in other games, too), but it got better and even had some really good games. KO return/coverage is where the athletic difference between us and many of our P5 opponents rears it's ugly...

    End of Season Survey Football

No offense (b/c I'm not a season ticket holder, either), but I would assume that some of our biggest complainers/critics on this board would be receiving these emails themselves...

    Up and coming receivers

Trying to stay on topic: 2019 WR situation: Camp: I can see JC being the reliable Brad Stewart role (great blocking, sure hands) Carter: Glimpses of playmaking ability, more speed (enough, tho?) Hawkins-Anderson, Sanders, Dolphus, Jackson, Harris: can one of these bring the playmaking ability...

    James Graham Highlights

@Longestday i think we can agree both were outstanding at the roles they played at GT! And I agree that TB had some excellent touch on the limited balls he got to throw here.

    James Graham Highlights

One of the first times I’ve disagreed with you vehemently. JeT was the best passing QB we’ve had under CPJ, and it saved us multiple times in 2016.

I actually think the gold helmet would look better with those. Still waiting for G/B/W combo.

2018 GT Football Season - General discussions

Not to derail this thread even more, but a potential backfield lineup of: QB: Oliver BB: Benson AB: Mason (who has shown great blocking IMO) AB: Howard/others would be a power run game like we may have never seen on the flats...

    QB Johnson injured - UPDATE

He took a legit redshirt year as a freshman. He got live snaps in RS-Fr. year. He was hurt for season before taking a snap this year. You apply for a medical redshirt during your senior year. I suspect, if LJ is still here then, he will apply for that and receive it, no problem.

Hey, let's take it a step further... if you donate a certain amount of $$$, you get to call the first play of each quarter. Or pick the starting QB. I mean, why not? You're paying for their scholarship, right? You deserve it.

    Marshall to start versus UNC...

My one weigh-in in this thread: TO hasn't run a single 3O play yet. I've harped on this since CPJ got here, but to have a fully effective offense, we've got to be able to run that play. Now, what TO can run is pretty dang dynamic, especially if you have to spend a good portion of your...

In Focus, DE Anree Saint-Amour and both BBacks

Love the analysis of the blocking scheme. I noticed some of that, as well, especially the BBs taking on the Mike. Loved it.

    Oliver

He is a strider like VL, but he is more explosive, it seems to me. If he could get his reads to a TW level, he might be the perfect option QB. We would literally never have to throw (and some peoples' heads would explode).
