    Coronavirus Thread

At the end of the day, everyone was learning more about the virus each day and recommendations evolved on how to protect everyone. The CBS interview was in early March and we were concerned with conserving masks (which initially were in short supply) for health care workers and those diagnosed...

    Georgia Tech All-Time basketball team

Great list of those that played since 1980. I would swap Yunkus for Bosh given his accomplishments over 3 years while playing at GT and because Bosh only played for one season. I'm not sure if you could swap anyone else who played prior to 1980 on this list.

    Good Article on JP Mason

I recall Devin Cochran, the LT from Vanderbilt as a transfer. Who is the other transfer coming in that you are referring to?

PG Kyle Sturdivant Transfers to GT

Given we have a solid and experienced 3 guard rotation returning with Maxwell possibly getting some floor time, I hope Sturdivant is OK with sitting one and playing 3. I guess we'll need to wait and see if the NCAA approves the immediate transfer rule.

PG Kyle Sturdivant Transfers to GT

I would still like to see us pick up a HS PG that buys into the 'get old' philosophy. I like having multiple ball handling-hawking PGs so that we can rotate and keep them fresh during the season.

    NCAA Tournament & COVID-19

Agreed however I still contend that schools will likely remained closed, at least for face to face instruction.

    NCAA Tournament & COVID-19

Just received an interim guidance notification from the CDC, advising that events with 50 or more people over the next 8 weeks by cancelled or postponed. This is on the CDC website at: https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/community/large-events/mass-gatherings-ready-for-covid-19.html I...

    Scrapping The Princeton Offense

I'll add the thoughts I posted also with a few edits..... Good analysis of Pastner's offensive philosophy and willingness to change based on the personnel. IMO, Sjolund could be a wildcard for next season, especially if he improves his footwork on defense. We know he can shoot and having a...

    GT / Louisville

Good analysis and worthy of a separate thread topic. IMO, Sjolund could be a wildcard for next season, especially if he improves his footwork on defense. We know he can shoot and having a threat like him on the court could help open things up for slashers.

    Butker to the Super Bowl

There was a good story on Fox 5 this past weekend about Butker going back to Westminster during the offseason and working out with the young kickers there. One of the coaches even mentioned that Butker OK'd giving out his phone number to kickers that may have questions. I think this says a lot...

    So on to NCSU ...

For the most part, we've had pretty good success with NYC point guards. It would be nice if we could find another one.

    Game Thread - @ FSU, 12/31/2019

If anyone wondered like myself, the game is scheduled for 12:00p ET today. I also see that it is scheduled to be on ESPNU. Go Jackets!!!

Why do you say the last two AC hires were bad and what excuses are being made about them?

    Quarterback for next year

There are more HS QBs coming out every year than starting QB positions on college teams. Not everyone has the skill set of Hurts, Burrows, and Fields. Unless they are willing to play at a lower level, it may be best for some to stay put and compete as more HS QBs will be added to the roster...

    Team overall ceiling

Well said! Moses is a great case of year over year player development and he has another 1 1/2 seasons before he graduates. He still makes mistakes (who doesn't) but is quietly becoming one of the more reliable players on the team. Moses is capable of averaging a double-double for the...

    Team overall ceiling

Moses was perfect from the field against Boise State along with 9 rebounds. No matter what, he can't seem to get much fan love. Given we run the Princeton offense, it requires constant motion and passing to cutters. If he parked down low, he would clog up the passing lanes hence the need to...

    Ball State game.

We've talked about both incidents ad nauseum here but CJP did suspend the players and assistant coach when he found out about both incidents. Everyone seems to forget about due process. Regardless of the evidence you might have and what you think about the people involved, everyone is entitled...

    Ball State game.

We also had way to many unforced turnovers during the game. I know this has been mentioned several times but we've got to do a better job in taking care of the basketball. It was frustrating during period in the first half when Ball State went on their run that we had so many empty...

    Ball State game.

I just got around to watching this game and noticed that Ball State has several decent outside shooters. That is something we lack as a team. As a result, defenses can collapse on us and force us to take outside shots. How many times did Banks encounter a double or triple team. He passed the...

    Sjolund to (not) transfer

Here is the story from the AJC - https://www.ajc.com/sports/college/tech-sjolund-enters-transfer-portal/v4t7wHwXanQdBZs0KbIHGM/ I wonder if he may reconsider and possibly stay? I thought redshirting was a mutual decision to help him gain strength among things. If he chooses not to stay, I...
