  1. College football is a mess

    Hey, me too!
  2. GT-UNC IS OFFICIALLY A WHITEOUT

As I recall, Cremins' speaking "oddities" become something that endeared him to many GT fans. Why couldn't it be the same with Coach S?
  3. Selective enforcement once again: NCAA strikes again

While I certainly don’t care for the NCAA, the law of unintended consequences is about to burst onto college sports…in a big way.
  4. 2023 Coaching Carousel

Hasn’t the landscape of college football changed dramatically over the last 4 years? Didn’t NIL start within the last 4 years, and ‘unlimited’ transfers?
  5. So… we won. Will it be a turning point or a blip on the radar?

Just a random comment. Everyone keeps saying we’re such a young team…but we lose Kelly and Sturdivant next year, who led us in scoring (along with the fresh PG) last night. There will be some shoes that need filling next year. I know we’ve got 2 good recruits coming in, but building from where...
  6. GT-UNC IS OFFICIALLY A WHITEOUT

If that last play was a foul, there were a number of other play calls that went against GT earlier that evened things out….
  7. Conference Realignment

This supports my gut feeling, which is: The SEC is indeed the best overall conference, BY A SMIDGEON. It has recently had some of the best individual teams in the country, but overall as a conference, it is slightly better BUT NOWHERE NEAR THE EXTENT THAT SHOULD JUSTIFY ALL OF THE ADORATION...
  8. Defending the post

I was sitting upstairs in the 200 level. Might have something to do with how loud it seemed (or didn't seem) to me. OTOH, my Apple watch did keep warning me that the decibel level exceeded 95 dbs a number of times....
  9. GT-UNC IS OFFICIALLY A WHITEOUT

Just need a bit more consistency....the losses to "weaker" teams take all the air out of the sails
  10. Defending the post

It was the first game this year for me as well. I loved it. The GT students were great, imho! The overall atmosphere was, imho, quieter than in the Thrillerdome years, but still decent considering how many UNC fans were there. My guess is that many outside of students kept waiting for the...
  11. College football is a mess

Perhaps. The rest of the ACC was 6-2 against your mighty SEC. Don’t cherry pick data, you’re better than that.
  12. GT-UNC IS OFFICIALLY A WHITEOUT

I will be there for the first time this year but am not expecting much....
  13. Conference Realignment

Are you suggesting that ESPN is not losing profitability and isn't under pressure to cut costs? They just had significant staff layoffs just last year.....
  14. 2024 ACC Football Schedule Reveal - Jan 24th, ACC Network and ESPN2

...and then drop them out in the final ranking....Your question is actually backward...why would the CFPC rank FSU as #4 even after Travis got hurt, then drop them out after they beat UF? If the QB was the cause of them being dropped, why didn't it happen earlier?
  15. 2024 ACC Football Schedule Reveal - Jan 24th, ACC Network and ESPN2

I believe people in public positions lie all the time to justify their actions to the public (see: politicians, CEO’s, media personalities, etc). They typically understand/believe that the public may not/will not be happy with the truth, so, they tell what they believe is a sellable argument...
  16. Conference Realignment

I came to accept some time ago that there are folks on this board who are blinded by the SEC hype. Arguing with them and using facts does no good. They are true believers. I gave up arguing about it.
  17. 2024 ACC Football Schedule Reveal - Jan 24th, ACC Network and ESPN2

Actually, as the voice of ESPN, which pretty much funds college football, yes…I believe he is. Money talks. BS walks….
  18. Conference Realignment

The ACC starts with a huge handicap. Its universities are simply much smaller in enrollments than the big state schools of either the SEC or the Big Ten. Alumni and relations are the largest source of athletics funding. Moreover, schools who are considered "flagship" universities for their state...
  19. 1/23/2024 MBB vs. Pitt.

Give it a year or two…far too early to give up.
