That's not true in my eyes at all. The problem we have is we are a young team running CPJ's complicated offense.
We ask a lot of AB's with regards to blocking, they have to get out in space and make blocks. Chubb only has to pick up a blitzer from the backfield.
I didn't it was possible to regress this much, but this offense is downright pitiful. Line can't block, ABs can't block, mediocre WRs. We're in for a long season if they don't get it figured out.
When I get time I will post the GIFs, but there were quite a few holds by the ND OL that were simply missed. I'm talking about in the open field. Freeman was the most frequent victim.
Only difference is that our recievers aren't practicing their push off all the time. They're blocking. The lack of holding and pushoffs makes for a large advantage for a passing team.
I'm re-watching now...I'm seeing a lot of holding and pushoffs. I don't think they called a good game. ND plays on the bleeding edge of legality ever play and they seemed to never get called.
That's my opinion. We didn't play well, but they got a lot of breaks.
Ehh...he didn't look spectacular or anything against UVA. Made some plays but nothing amazing. I'm scared of him, but hes probably never been pancaked 30 times in a game by a 300+ pound lineman. He's got something to worry about as well.
Possibly on special teams, don't think he's played at DE or OLB. I'm just talking about possible surprises. It wouldn't surprise me if CPJ and Roof have been hiding some personnel packages. But I could be totally wrong.
I'm all for being cautiously optimistic, but JBR has been posting a lot of woe-is-me/us lately. First the ACC nightmare scenario and then this.
I know we'll show up to play on Saturday. ND will show up as well. It will be a great game. There is no reason to look more than a year or two in the...
I think we might see some weird formations, perhaps trips with 2 Abs and a WR on a single side. I expect we'll motion in and out of that as well. I wouldn't be surprised if we see a 4 wide passing formation that starts as normal veer and the A-backs move out wide. If they are playing 8 in the...
