  1. Conference Realignment

Because it’s not an enforceable amendment if both parties don’t sign! I had a real estate investment business, and my partner and I acquired a lot that was landlocked - no access by roads. There is law concerning easements and we had a right to an easement through an adjacent commercial...
  2. 2023 Coaching Carousel

I have lots of family that went to Texas A&M, and they refuse to call UT the University of Texas - they call them t.u. In lower case. It’s actually in their fight song, the Aggie War Hymn.

  4. 2023 Coaching Carousel

It’s a good move by DeBoer, IMO. Bringing in proven guys that aren’t gunning for HC jobs (presumably) may give staffs more tenure and consistency. I suspect that as salaries grow for assistants it means you don’t always have to strive for the HC job.
  5. Only off topic coversations!

I’ll take good athlete with multiple options any day.
  6. ProJackets Update

He’s a beast, always has been. He got dinged for his height - see how that matters.
  7. Only off topic coversations!

Still feel like he ends up on defense, but that is just based on our roster, incoming transfers and positions of need. If he can play OLB or as hybrid rush end then he could have shot at playing as a freshman.
  8. Transfer Portal: Who do we need to target this offseason?

Edge rusher is probably our biggest need, no matter the scheme.
  9. What type of defensive scheme will Santucci run @ GT?

Per the interesting article posted by @slugboy , my guess is we will be more of a 3-3-5 with our personnel. One thing I took from that article is that the 4-2-5 requires you to have strong stand-up rushers, and I’m not sure we will have that next year. I also think the new breed of DC can and...
  10. Potential DC for Next Year

Maybe it was at that coaches’ event, so with everyone there it’s a great opportunity to interview people AND expand your network of like minded coaches. Talking to more coaches during this process gives you a better Rolodex for future hires. The lifespan on a coach in college, whether...
  11. Potential DC for Next Year

This is a really good hire, IMO. Of course, I know nothing about football, but it sure seems like a good hire.
  12. Only off topic coversations!

Good for him; he seems like he's a really good coach, so having his experience is another net positive for the staff. Perhaps that was the plan all along - it would make a ton of sense and explain why Key wouldn't feel rushed to make a decision on the next DC.
  13. Haynes Kings needs to develop _____ during the offseason take the next step as a QB?

I don't think this thread is about complaining, I honestly think it's about the small things that could move King into elite, draftable status. I think everyone agrees with your statement about his heart / fight / will to win. He's got great intangibles, and if he continues to develop our...

    Loved him in Tic-Tac-Dough, though.
  15. Brand New Transfer Season NIL talk

Except the rules were for outside employment, not for the schools to use as a slush fund.
  16. CFP Discussion

I would think we split back into divisions with the higher number of teams per conference and the desire to get more teams into the playoff
  17. North Carolina Hires New DC - Geoff Collins

    Yep, fair enough.
  18. North Carolina Hires New DC - Geoff Collins

I have no inside knowledge. All I hear about is how big donors wanted to make a change because they were sick of people making fun of us for having a "high school offense". It seems that there was a lot of external pressure. Sure, Johnson retired but I personally think that we ran him off by...
