Here is a Pepper story which is probably as mixed up as factual. It was 78, and Pepper had changed the offense. Mike Kelly was the quarterback, and he could throw it pretty well, something rare during the Pepper years. I was there when we beat Auburn at Auburn. On a key play, Kelly took a...
Not much new here. Graham, Mason, Brown for sure. Seems like I heard Dominick's name called a lot late in the season. I say heard because, using a line stolen from another poster, I saw a lot of the games on the radio this year, thanks to the Dish/Fox feud.
I almost said something in the Post Game thread when it seemed like everyone was piling on the OC. I can't say I like every play he's called, but overall, I like what he is doing. It seems to me amazing that in the first year he introduced the variety of plays totally alien to what we had...
I seem to be out of sync lately with many posters. That said, I'll be surprised if anyone passes Graham spring or fall. If Yates or Gleason pass him, that would tell me they are some kinda good. But it is likely that either would go through the same growing pains as Graham did this year...
Glad I opened this thread. The Post Game thread was adding to my already bummed out outlook.
I will always remember the 2019 team as the hustlingest, hardest trying team ever. No matter what the score they gave it all they had. That goes for road games too. Many years we look like a...
A die hard Dog fan told me recently that their super tall and heavy O-line is not very good at run blocking. His standards could be very high, but maybe there is something to it.
It's the Battle for the Bottom. Tune in and watch the drama unfold as we determine which is really the worst team in the ACC and which is merely a pretender. This game has huge implications for the final season rankings. Bottom 10 rankings, that is.
I'm sure when ESPN baited their hook...
This game gives us a leg up on recruiting. Our coaches can tell recruits with absolute honesty, "Georgia Tech offers you a better chance at early playing time than any team in the country."
Some credit to coaches and players for the improvement this year. I wish we could play about ten more games this year to give us the experience for next year. O-line blocked a little better, and at times we got some pressure on the QB. We have a good assortment of skill position players. It...
I don't know what happened to Graham today. He looked better in his first start than he did today. But it is just one game. Too soon to say he might not be good eventually.
I think to make the rest of the games more competitive we need to be awarded a point for every first down.
College football is one strange game. These are the same players who a lot of us -- myself included -- had determined prior to today simply didn't have the talent to compete with anybody this year. Remember all those posts about our goshawful recruiting?
Maybe Carpenter was out of position. I dunno. What I saw was he was on the receiver a split second after he made the catch. He knew where the first down marker was and lifted and pulled the guy back trying to keep him short. Didn't quite have the strength to hold him, but held him just long...
Another vote for 89 vs UGA. We were underdogs and had lost a few in a row to them. We were not really expecting a win, but hoping. We were also more pissed than usual because Tech and Georgia had the same records but the Peach Bowl had already invited Georgia leaving us with no bowl to go to...
The new S and C coach will earn his check in the off season.
Seems to me we often recruit potential for linemen. The already developed guys are scooped up by the Clemsons and Georgias. We have to project what they'll look like in a couple of years.
