  1. Duke Postgame: GT loses 41-23

Kmag said it. Duke was more physical on both lines. We never competed in several short yardage situations. Duke got out to a big lead in the first half and just waited out the clock in the second. We did look better in the second half, but I don't know how much that had to do with Duke's...
  2. ACC Network Updates

I'm with Dish. They are in a months long pricing war with the Fox Sports network. Will there be an internet broadcast of the Duke game?
  3. Has fan apathy already set in?

Not exactly apathy, more like maturity and resignation. Boomer said it best; we lack quality and experience on both lines. I know we lost one lineman to death and some to injury, but otherwise, it's a mystery as to how we go this way. But it is the reality. For now, it's impossible to know...
  4. North Carolina Postgame

The quarterback and receivers made the game a little more enjoyable today. The biggest problem is we have no rush end or pass rushers generally. If I were a head coach I would tell my defensive coordinator he was off the payroll instantly if he ever, under any circumstances, only rushed three.
  5. Bottom 25 (GT #10) 10/1/19

Wow! I wondered if the Bottom 25 feature was still around. If so, I thought we had a good chance of making it.
  6. Bright spots...

The linebacker and Antoine Owens absolutely nailed their back behind the goal line for our one score. Tobias was his usual slippery self on failed pass plays. Plus he threw the ball better than I expected.
  7. Bright spots...

For the first time this year I saw glimpses of a pass game. Receivers really open, not the usual throw it to a covered man and hope our man is the tallest or strongest and catches it. I saw some good throws. I saw some good play calls even if we didn't quite make the play. As has been noted...
  8. The Citadel Postgame

Rather than add the suicidal thoughts I had yesterday, let me ask, is there any chance that with two weeks to rest we get the starting O lineman back and look like a team which sorta knows what it's doing against Temple? I'm equally furious at the defense which couldn't figure out what to do...
  9. USF Postgame #USFvsGT

I may be the only one, but I'm okay with the way the coaches are using the quarterbacks. I think they are just playing the hand they're dealt. Oliver has the most experience and won't lose the game for you, but they can't run the offense they want to run because he can't throw it well enough...
  10. ACC Network Updates

Y'all, I just noticed something I hope is a good sign. If you Google Dish and ACC network, it returns a page listing a couple of ACC teams, including Clemson. For the last couple of weeks, if you click Clemson schedule, for channel it indicates something like Dish App or ACC App. But this...
  11. Spring Practice

Really happy to see "speed" and "wide receivers" in the same sentence. I loved PJ, but I never liked the fact that we practically never had a deep threat wide receiver in the game.
  12. Official GT announcement, OC and DC

Does the defensive guy run a four man front? I just don't like the 3-4 for pass rushing.
  13. ACC Football Thread

I'm always happy to see any ACC team get a win over any SEC team. But I think South Carolina fell victim to the bowl season phenomenon where some teams look like they came to play and others don't. I watched this one off an on and saw at one point some humongous total yards USC had in their...
  14. Transfers Out

I don't see this as as black and white as some people. I would not be in favor of pushing anyone out. It is the GT way to honor scholarships as long as the kid is keeping up his grades and showing up at practice and so on. On the other hand, if a kid was recruited for our offense and is now a...
  15. Quick Lane Bowl Predictions: Minnesota vs. Georgia Tech #QLB2018

I'm thinking along the lines of bke1984. We win a close, high scoring game. Something close to 45-38. I think it will look like an awful lot of Paul Johnson era GT games. Having not seen our offense, they will be bewildered by it. We'll put up big yards and points. But their offense sounds...
  16. Signing Day Info

Given that the whole staff turned over and the recruits don't even know what the offense and defense will look like and who their position coaches will be, I think this is great. Tells me they signed to attend GT, not just to play football. Maybe a dose of factory types would be welcomed, but...
  17. Signing Day Info

IEEE, I think a greyshirt means the coach tells you to enroll and you start attending practices but without a scholarship. If one becomes available later and the coach thinks you're worthy, you get one. I don't like the chances of the guy who is 2500% committed to passing Tech math courses.
  18. New O scheme position changes

I thought of Camp to tight end the first time I thought about it at all. I think spring will be a massive try-out for the running back positions. Like a lot of y'all, with no idea what our offense will look like, I don't know who might fit.
  19. What I'll miss about Tech football … and what I hope to see

This could be fun. Here's one of each for now. I'm gonna miss: around every other game on average the defense forgets an A back is a receiver and one is wide open running down the field and all we have to do is throw him the ball. I'll enjoy seeing: without the emphasis on blocking, maybe we...
