You are being obstinate! Make that 1 yard on 3rd down at the 2 minute mark and UNC at best gets the ball back with less than a minute in the game. Just a horrendous blunder! Our defense is what it is, a somewhat below average P4 defense. Expecting them to be different than they are is not...
Lineups will be interesting this season. I doubt anyone plays much over 30 minutes per gam over the full season. There will be some games guys play in the high 30 minutes but I don't think that will be the norm. I would expect CDS to do a lot of lineup experimenting early in the season to see...
The reason we nearly lost the game was due to the absurd12 men in the huddle coming out of the 2 minute TO changing 3rd an 1 to 3rd and 6. Odds are good Pyron gets the 1 yard for the 1st down.
The killer was the absurd 12 men breaking the huddle on the 3rd and 1 coming out of the 2 minute time out. That was totally unacceptable by the coaches and players! It almost cost us the game.
King has not been good on the deep pass this year. Nearly every game he has had either Rutherford or Singleton open on a deep vertical and missed on the throw. You only get a few shot a game and King has been off on nearly all of the deep throws. His arm/shoulder may have been dinged up for...
If you recall in the NFL a decade or so ago the Saints had a “Bounty” system paying their players for injuring opponents. Their coaches, DC, HC and GM all faced suspensions/discipline by the League.
The example given was a false equivalency as you pointed out!
Army and Navy are truly different. No NUL, no incoming from the Portal and they play teams that are at the low end of FBS football talent wise.
Any P4 team running that offense would have the same recruiting challenges GT faced under CPJ. Most of the very best players don’t want to play in...
What is the difference? Was he able to adapt to the changing rules? Seems like he simply didn't want to invest into changing and had a stellar coaching career already. He made a smart rational decision to leave coaching. NIL and the Transfer Portal would have driven CPJ nuts!
It is fairly routine if the offense makes a substitution with about 15 seconds on the play clock. I have seen it many times in both College Football and the NFL. It is legal and teams use the rules to their advantage. Good coaching in my opinion!
Simple - you play to win the game within the rules. A life lesson everyone should learn as soon as possible. This is not a beauty contest. It is a very physical game where players are asked to go full out and hit other players as hard as they can. The plays ae legal. There is not cheating...
College refs rarely call holding unless the arm is outstretched with jersey in the defender's hand. They also rarely call Pass Interference even when the receiver is grabbed/mugged!
The question on that was the whistle blown as the refs had signaled forward progress was stopped. The replay and announcers never really explained if that was the case. CW is clearly a lesser broadcast Network for College Football.
