Agree completely.
But con artists don’t like being exposed and their fragile ego structure has to find a scapegoat. He failed miserably at Tech but in his narrative it was Tech that failed. He will never let go of that narrative.
I might get a warning for saying this but TFG is a borderline psychopath. He now has a special hatred for Tech, believing that he was unfairly treated and that they are the source of all his troubles. He has gone from “Tech is my dream job” to wishing all manner of misfortune on this program...
I think some of Buster’s play calling involves compensating for areas in which our offense isn’t strong, emphasizing certain blocking patterns, types of runs, and certain pass patterns. It’s the only way I can account for large missing sections in the playbook. Also, as others have pointed...
You are not wrong.
However, we might do better scheming against one particular player and one particular style of offense.
Yes, Miami presents a difficult matchup problem for us. But my point was that Cal presents matchup problems for us with their whole team. And they, so far, don’t seem...
I would rather play Miami than Cal at this point. Cal is one of those smart, consistent, few-mistake teams that we will struggle with all year.
Does Cam Ward’s side armed throwing bother anyone else? I know you can’t argue with success but those are the kinds of mechanics they used to try to...
I was wrong about Tennessee.
It sure appears there are no dominant teams this year. Just having quality players is not enough. Teams with quality coaches who have been with the program for awhile have an advantage, especially if the staff is fairly stable.
Miami may be going down tonight...
So….bottom line, we aren’t as bad as we feared. We look healthier after the bye, which many of us predicted. Duke has been a solid team this year but they cracked under the pressure tonight against a Tech team that kept coming after them.
It will be interesting to see if Duke recovers from a...
Just to repeat something I said weeks ago, Ole Miss and Missouri are greatly overrated.
I still think the best SEC teams are Texas and Tennessee with Alabama and Georgia being slightly behind.
And, Vanderbilt proves again that option teams are dangerous.
I still contend we saw FSU’s best team and best game this year. They act like they’ve never recovered from the Tech heartbreak loss and the locker room looks like it’s pretty much gone for the season. An awful lot of pro talent wasted on that team this year.
We said the Syracuse came was big because it gave us a chance to build a really great season.
Now the Duke game is big because it gives us a chance to avoid a really bad season.
Tonight is big. I’m excited and pumped because I still have hopes for this team but it’s certainly almost do or die.
Duke game should reveal all.
A win against an undefeated Duke team will mean we aren’t awful.
An easy win against an undefeated Duke team would mean we are pretty good, still growing as a team, and big wins are still possible this year.
A loss would almost certainly mean “wait until next...
Short version.
We are not as good as we wanted us to be this year.
Every game this year will be a one-off event determined by matchups (in which we will rarely have any distinct advantages) and mistake free execution and a sound game plan.
I just don’t see the Duke game being at all easy for...
