I watched their game with Notre Dame. First game of the season for both teams. Duke played pretty good, much better in fact than they did against North Carolina which was a complete meltdown. No matter what game I watch, I see that quarterback for Duke as being a "game manager" of sorts when...
The Virginia game was illuminating. The Duke quarterback committed back to back turnovers which led to Virginia scores. The Virginia quarterback made more plays. It was that simple. Duke is a team that has to move the ball because the defense gets worn out. Even against Charlotte, Duke had...
I never thought we would win five ACC games. I thought we would win one more than we won last year but this is not a good team right now. How will they handle coming off a long layoff? Tech needs to beat this team. Duke, for the first time in quite a while, just does not have anyone that...
I watched three Duke games: Virginia, Charlotte, and BC. They are not a good team especially on offense. Quarterback Brice is slow, he is prone to turnovers and holds the ball too long. His receivers struggle to get separation. He has a very good tight end though. The only place I see...
Do you think Harbaugh should be on this list? Charlie McClendon is still the winningest coach in LSU history. RC Slocum should never have been fired with a winning percentage of .721 he was the second highest on the list after the Rev. who in my opinion was unfairly singled out because he...
Going through some of those names brought back memories: Ron Zook is famous for being the first coach to have a "fireronzook.com" website devoted to him on the FIRST day he was hired. Poor Mike Locksley had the absolute lowest winning record percentage at an unheard of .130. I would feel...
Charlie was good for the local economy. When he was at Florida as the offensive coordinator, he kept a half dozen food places in business. Besides he had what he called a "schematic advantage" when he was coaching at Notre Dame. Plus, he would make a big deal on TV of holding his ring hand...
Interesting. There were a lot of coaches on that list with winning records of .600 or so including the Reverend. I don't think Tuberville should have been on the list either. Paul Dietzel did something a lot of very good coaches never did, he won a national title. Charlie McClendon should...
Don't blame him one bit. But I question whether he is really a quarterback. Except at a school with some kind of hybrid option offense. A fine young man in any case.
Anyone who actually gets fired at Tech probably deserved to get fired a couple of years earlier. Coach Collins will be here until TStan absolutely has to make a change. The worst thing to do is to fire some coach with a huge buyout like South Carolina did with Champ.
