Tennessee spent the better part of a decade wandering the wilderness, perhaps that is our fate. I hope not but its possible. Tennessee finally made the right hire as head coach and immediately found a quarterback who could make the offense go. It should not have taken so long given their...
Never cared for coffee either. Always drank tea instead. As for Mr. Batt, he needs time to evaluate the situation and decide how to proceed. This is going to take a few years to rebuild this football team. IIWII
Trying to remember and in Coach Johnson's era, the one most frequently mentioned was his very first center on as makeshift a line as can be imagined. Sean Bedford was a walk on defensive tackle that was moved to center in another of Coach Johnson's flashes of insight and played quite well...
"Know this: Our biggest problem by a light year isn't our quarterback, its our offensive line." That is true this year, maybe last year, and quite possibly the year before that. An ongoing issue that never seems to be solved. FSU went through this back in the early 2000s or so and what was...
Well, I didn't break it down I just happened to see it on the season chart from last year for UVA. The number of catches by Kemp, Wicks, and Thompson were way higher than what they have this year. Armstrong is a good quarterback but he can't do anything without a line blocking for him. He and...
Whattaya mean "no clout"? The only reason I am on here is to get street cred with my Florida buddies and the FSU and Miami fans that I play tennis with. You are saying that I put all this effort into posting and there is no benefit beyond self gratification? Bummer.
Last year, it seems they had a big, I mean huge, tight end that was a security blanket of sorts for Armstrong. I don't think they have him this year. The changing of coordinators and offense has clearly frustrated Armstrong. Imagine over 4,000 passing yards in a year. That is really something.
Makes sense but as it is now Jeff is the only one in that room that seems to know what is going on. This is inexcusable but not surprising. GT2019 is probably right. Two bad quarterback evaluations in one year has left this team in a pickle.
Thank you it makes me feel better knowing that Jeff wants the ball even when it is in his best interests to sit. Disappointing about Taisun. Another reason to be wary of 4 and 5 stars in the portal that have not played much I suppose. IIWII
What I do not understand is that three of their top receivers: Thompson, Wicks, and Kemp were back from last year and all of them were dropping passes last night. Armstrong passed for well over 4,000 yards last year but that offense sputtered all night long with dropped third down passes...
"...if Pyron can't beat out Gibson...then what does that say?" It says that he better not count on being drafted and that his future may be in Division III ball.
I am not sure I would play him if he were on my G5 team but that's just me. Understanding the usual poor performance by the line but he missed wide open receivers and took sacks rather than throw the ball. That said, it was all on the offense. We even had a couple of dropped passes. As for...
Good question but I would say that under the circumstances there is not really a "must win game" for Coach Key. He will be judged by the athletic director and the other administrators not by the whims of an ever fickle fan base. He just needs to focus on one game at a time and get the team...
This guy checks all the boxes and would seem to indicate a new direction for athletics at Tech. I wish him all the best. God knows the entire organization needs to be more, what's the word? Professional I suppose like Alabama, Tennessee, Florida etc.
At least you had the good grace and class not to make fun of my geography mix up. Alabama now has more out of state students than in state? How about that? I will have to tell my Alabama in laws about that.
