I wish I could have seen CPJ's face while he shared this recollection. I heard the broadcast and could imagine he was very proud of his decision with PJ. FWIW, CPJ also mentioned he took at look at PJ playing safety however the former DC still was not interested.
In today's NCAA, a coach is also evaluated on the Academic Progress Rate (APR) of the student athletes. All prior coaches were not actively evaluated on this.
Not sure if this is what you were looking for but this is the UVA depth chart that appeared in the 11/17 AJC,

I think we will have fewer turnovers with Heath starting at PG. Bringing Moore off the bench may also give him a chance to have success against the opponents 2nd unit PG.
I hope Jackson can get a few minutes at PG, allow us to go to a taller lineup with AD from time to time.
I'm a huge proponent of this kind of defensive strategy. We did the same thing when I coached AAU years ago. We put a premium on every possession, which is the same strategy CJP is employing.
No disrespect to Ogbondo but it makes you wonder what Gregory saw in him during the recruiting process. I hope the current coaching staff can get him to a level where he can be a contributor.
What has happened with Klock? He was the starting tackle and the beginning of the season. I know he got hurt and missed a few games but I thought he was back. Did he play any during the VT game?
Seems the blueprint for a QB is one that can run downhill like JN, TW and MJ yet has speed and can run the TO and pass like JT. Is Lucas Johnson that QB? If so, he may give competition to MJ in 2017 and/or be the heir apparent in 2018.
Given the way MJ played today, do we question who starts at QB against UVA, assuming JT is declared ready to go? This will be the last home game of the season and historically we recognize senior starters.
If we start JT, does the midline become a key part of the playbook? It seems we have...
I'm surprised there has not been a game recap yet on the AJC site (11/12 @ 9:00a). I'm actually getting more (and probably better) insight and analysis here. :)
Interesting comment! I spoke to a former player from the 80's this past weekend. His concern centered on your first paragraph, that CPJ doesn't make enough outreach to the community to help build the fan base. He openly asked how can we in a metro area of 6.5M not fill a stadium of 50K during...
I see this as a possible outcome. The only time I can recall a Tech man being fired is Pepper Rogers after the 1979 season. Factoring in the personal relationship between Stansbury and Roof, I have a hard time seeing Roof being fired.
If dollars to GTAA begin to slow, that will have a bigger...
They probably know it, just not how to stop the completions. We need to make the QB uncomfortable and take him off his stop but the DLine can't get enough pressure.
I think that is where some like to consider the Time of Possession stat as an indicator. I personally don't think it matters as much unless you are scoring (preferably with 7 points) with each possession.
I like when we have 10+ play drives as that does give the defense a chance to rest and...
Were you surprised by that comment? Except for the past two seasons, we've had challenges recruiting high impact DLineman, specifically DTs. It's been said several times that as a position group, DLinemen have lower GPAs.
Are there high impact DLineman available that can also handle the...
I was at the Notre Dame game in 1978 that ND won 38-21 and in 1980 that ended in a 3-3 tie. Tech made national news in both games for throwing fish and whiskey bottles at the Notre Dame coaches and players. I researched and read that Tech fans had a long history of this when playing Notre Dame...
