ATLANTA, GA - In life you're not always presented with second chances. For Marcus Allen and Jabari Hunt-Days, a second chance is what they needed and received. Both took advantage Friday night during Georgia Tech's spring game and left indelible marks in the minds of Yellow Jacket fans going into the offseason.

Allen, a running back turned linebacker turned wide receiver turned running back again, rushed for a team-high 77 yards and caught multiple passes out of the backfield with ease. On any ordinary night in college football that stat-line would certainly not earn an ESPN helmet sticker nor much more than a pat on the back. However considering Allen's spring, one in which he took over Georgia Tech's feature back position after practicing there just 7 days, those statistics are far more impressive.

ATLANTA, GA – In a season defined by fits and starts, Saturday’s performance by Georgia Tech fit the script once again. During three different 4+ minute stretches the Yellow Jackets were held scoreless. They started the second half on a 15-2 run. In the end the Jackets fell victim to another unsettling trend, losing its 10th ACC game by 7 points or less, this time by a final score of 57-53 to Florida State.

“It’s a bitter pill to swallow. There’s no doubt about it with some of the efforts we've given,” said head coach Brian Gregory following the game.

Looking at today’s loss Tech has no one to blame but themselves. The Jackets were undone during closing time, allowing Florida State to close out both halves on 9-0 runs.

Reflecting on the Seminoles' first half run Gregory offered that “it was the only four minutes that we didn't play with the physicality, toughness, and intensity level that you need to play with when you play a Florida State team.”

DURHAM, NC - Not many words are stronger than those from a head basketball coach with 1,000+ wins to his name. What Duke head coach Mike Krzyzewski observed Wednesday night in Cameron Indoor Stadium was a Georgia Tech team that played with "such good body language" and "toughness". Unfortunately for the Yellow Jackets those words accompanied another loss, this time at the hands of the #4 Duke Blue Devils by a final score of 72-66.

Georgia Tech entered the game as decided underdogs, however no one including Duke's active Hall of Famer would have known based on the game played. Tech looked every bit of Duke's peer for extended stretches tonight, coming within one shot of taking a second half lead three different times in one of the toughest arenas in the country. Never did the Yellow Jackets get over the hump.

Marcus Georges-Hunt, Chris Bolden, and Demarco Cox pitched in with double-digit point efforts with 14, 16, and 10 respectively. All three did so while being asked to contain several of the premiere players in the country in small forward Justice Winslow, shooting guard Quinn Cook, and center Jahlil Okafor.
