Poor shooting from the field in the free throw line. Not that the free throw line made the difference today.

There was no shortage of blowouts in the men's first round. But the blowouts in the women's first round were extreme. Maybe South Carolina and Duke should take out their starters when they are up by 60. I give Notre Dame some credit. It backed off and only won by 52.

We’re apparently not a basketball school….
The kid on the front row sitting right in front of the teacher would raise his hand and say we are not so bad a basketball school, saying where we are among the total of 379 NCAA D1 schools ever to play:

39th in Strength of Schedule (10th percentile)
66th in SRS (Simple rating system) (17th percentile)
70th in NCAA tournament appearances with 17 (18th percentile)
48th in Final Four appearances with 2 (13th percentile)
262 in win-loss record at 52.9% (69th percentile)

Based on the site https://www.sports-reference.com/cbb/schools/, the nerd kid would say that Georgia Tech has done pretty good as a nerd academic school, playing a tough schedule, winning more than losing, and being a top 20 school in NCAA appearances and final fours.

The guy in the back row would raise his hand and ask, "But what have they done for us lately to maintain or improve the legacy?"

You found me!! I’m the kid in the back row!!
I was back there with you. The front row guy only described the mens team of 106 years. The womennns team, now in the 44th season since joining the NCAA D1 in 1982with a total of 379 teams.

47th in Strength of Schedule ( top 11th percent)
43rd in SRS (Simple rating system) (top 17th percent)
80th in NCAA tournament appearances with 12 (top 21st percent)
121st in win-loss record at 54.3% (top 31st percent)

Based on the site https://www.sports-reference.com/cbb/schools/, the front row guy would say that the Georgia Tech women have done pretty good as well, playing a tough schedule, winning more than losing, and being in the top 20 percent of schools in NCAA appearances. As with the men with winning programs, a respectable legacy that can be built upon quickly.
