Sewak has gotten several good recruits the last couple years ... one of the more productive recruiters on staff recently.

After many years of doing nothing. The Sandersville kid caused Paul to read him the riot act. Sewak has sucked as a coach in general due to the product he puts on the field. He is strongly disliked because he treated one of our all time players like crap. You can get away with that if you're good, not when your qb is running for his life.

I understand that coaches teach player to do there assignment but when they keep messing up over and over put someone else in etc... you got to make adjustments on both side of the ball etc... try something different please!

Seriously?? Sometimes you have to do certain things to keep your job, or better your career; that might not be the "perfect" scenario. Can you fault him for making good business decisions?

But don't think the current staff and especially PJ go forgive and forget. That kind of stuff sticks with them, especially with PJ. If the guy wants to recruit for his school and talk up his own school, PJ doesn't have a problem with that. But if he cuts down another program and in particular the offense they run and how hard the school is, yeah, that's going to be a problem. How would that look if Key is brought on board and has to go talk up Tech to a school and its coaches and players when he's peed on it before? Think they'll trust him?

Key doesn't work with this offense. He's a good guy. I think we all know who we should hire as a coach who wasn't a co coach. CPJ's loyalty has hurt us as a football team.

He may be a good guy, but he won't be coaching here under PJ. And frankly, he may never coach here. If he's out on the recruiting trail and denigrating Tech, should he be put on the staff, there's no way any high school coach could take him seriously once he starts trying to talk Tech up to him and his players. Even if he's recruiting a different area, high school coaches talk to each other and they'll talk about the coaches who come recruit their schools.

He's not an option coach, so his recruiting is a moot point.

No one is required to engage in negative recruiting in order to have success on the trail so I wouldn't say he had to do it to keep his job. And yes, I can fault him for that decision. As others have said, that likely burned the GT bridge for him especially being that he's an alum.

Again, as others have said, he's not an option coach anyway so it's all moot (including my original shot at him). Actually, that's probably the main reason Sewak's not going anywhere. There are only so many guys out there familiar enough with the scheme anyway. IIRC, Johnson indicated that he relies on Sewak to help him make the in-game adjustments he's been so effective with (outside of this season). IOW, Sewak has value in areas in addition to coaching OL. I questioned us having multiple OL coaches before the one guy got fired, but I think it may be a good idea to go back to that?

Back on topic, I do think we'll show marked improvement next season as long as multiple leaders emerge from among the young guys who're playing now. That Mitchell kid at LB is such a welcome sight on D. As was Gray at S. The DLine looked competent vs UVA IMHO at it consisted of basically the guys we'll likely see next season.

This season has been awful and I'm not into moral victories, however, there are glimmers of hope

Things are going to change... I feel your pain its hard to look ahead but it's all we can do now. We still get a chance to beat VT, Miami, and the Leg Humpers keep your head up and enjoy your Halloween.

I've seen nothing this year that tells me we are going to be better next year. I guess we will have to wait and see but I'd like to know what you see that tells you we will be better next year.

We'll have three different offensive linemen.

I agree. Typical GT fan to anoint someone "talented" even when they are getting their asses handed to them play after play and week after week. Talented players make plays. You know like the guys that played last year and that some think made plays just because of "experience". News flash......we had a **** load of talent last year that not many GT fans believed in.

Those guys did't walk onto campus doing what they did last year. They all got better and better and peaked last year. Every skill guy who graduated off last year's team was better than the year before.

Not no, but Hell no to Brent Key. I will never forget him low rating our Coach after a game in Nashville. Several of us were addressed by this ******* and we all can't stand him for what was said.
