A fact to consider:

There are a total of 300 NCAA Division 1 college baseball teams. Currently, only 64 (21%) make it to a Regional.

This means 236 (79%) fail to make it to a Regional.

WHAT If we were able to generate a time machine & hold everything constant & re-run the last 15 years 10 times ...

My money would be on the overall winning percentage to be about the same all 10 times & not once (out of 10) would the team fail to reach a super regional.

Curious. We'll never know. The time machine re-dos just don't count.

Thanks to Battman's openess in letting us fans know what is going on behind the scenes and letting us know Danny will be allowed to coach the last season of his contract. J Batt continues to punch all the correct buttons, at least for me.

Will drop this here...

I assume Hall is in fact staying for another year but my read on the article & Batt's quote... not a full throated endorsement. If an AD says same about a guy approaching final year of his 1st contract... you'd probably think the coach wasn't coming back. Not trying to stir things up but Ken's summary/comment doesn't really match Batts quote.

I am willing to bet he finds another year to ride out the Burress era.

Batt & Cabrera have a basket full of fish to fry and Hall is not going to screw up the program by coaching one more season. Our baseball legacy is producing outstanding players, not outstanding teams. And Hall has contributed greatly to that legacy. Letting him have a final season will be good for the program in multiple ways.

It’s a valid point. I have always said we recruit for MLB not Omaha.

I’ve quit following baseball for the most part but even I can see that one more year isn’t going to make any difference nor kill the program.

It’s just another season down the drain for us fans. A year is a valuable thing.

If, in fact, he does actually leave after next year.

I don't know if GT would reach down to the University of Tampa level to grab a head coach. But the coach here (Joe Urso) has his team competing for the school's 9th national title in baseball.

My view is that the Auburn walk-off in 2019 regional broke the program. It was a crushing moment. Couple that with the cancelation of the 2020 season, unable to redeem ourselves, ijust nose dived us and CDH hasn't been able to get us out of the tail spin.

And can some of the season ticket holders answer why student support is so seemingly low? Never understood how a stadium in the Greek Village never seems to have a large student presence.

CDH has made us a stable program, and i for one and grateful. But I hope 2025 is his ride off into retirement season. Maybe the team will pull a Birmingham Southern style run for the ole coach.

Not sure what happened there. 6-8 years ago they were pretty solid and would fill 3b side low and heckle the opponents like crazy. Jack Leggett couldn't stand them.

A fact to consider.

There have been 75 programs that have made a Super Regional since 2006. Including such power house programs like Evansville, Davidson, West Virginia, Tennessee Tech, Washington, Indiana State, Stetson, South Florida, Illinois, College of Charleston, VCU, Pepperdine. Minnesota, Stony Brook, Houston, Missouri State, Sam Houston State, and every other ACC school with a baseball program except Pitt and us.

Sixteen — 0.05% of 300 NCAA Division 1 baseball teams — make it to the Super Regionals.

The eight Super Regional winners that advance to the College World Series comprise only 0.02666667% of the total of 300 teams.

The final two that play for the College World Series national championship represent 0.0066666% of the total of 300 teams.

The winner is 0.00333333%.

And Georgia Tech with Hall making $510,000 annually, Borrell $225,000 and Ramsey $175,000 vs. Arkansas Pine Bluff Head coach making $101,615 have the same odds and resources to make it. Your numbers may work on a roulette wheel, but not in reality. Not even worth an argument.
