Louisville’s WR are awful. I don’t know how Rodmaker and a true freshman are the only depth you have at QB in year 3 at FSU. All
the good offensive players for FSU were Taggart recruits tonight, I think Norvell is screwed next year even if they go bowling this year. He’s a fraud and I think Taggart got hosed being fired midway through year 2 considered they are willing to put up with Norvell through three full years.

Taggart was the first coach after a national championship winning coach, and Taggart went 9-12 overall and 0-5 against Miami, Florida, and Clemson.

There are other reasons, but following a title-winning coach means you need to win big, and he didn’t

Taggart significantly underperformed (had Top 20 talent and Top 50 results), missed a bowl game for the first time in over 35 yrs, he had locker room issues, they were very undiciplined and had a lot of uncalled for penalties at bad times (ended up ranked last in D1), he couldn't recruit a QB, they lost an average of somethign incredible like 25k fans at their games, etc. In the end, FSU didn't want Taggart to drive their recruiting into the dumpster as they were whiffing on top targets & dropped him early to get out ahead of it. Other than that it was all roses.

He didn’t lose to to Jacksonville State at home like Norvell. I think there were behind the scenes things going on that I won’t speculate on right now. His gulf coast offense does take a while to implement and he was forced to give up play calling and never got to implement it fully. He seems to be cooking with Nkosi Perry down in FAU right now. His record his first year was pretty much like Fisher’s last except Fisher got the W against a terrible Muschamp led Florida and FSU lost to a 10win Mullen Florida team.

Edit: ^The starting QB the last two years is his recruit. Norvell, the current guy, is the guy who can’t recruit QBs.

I like Cuses look on defense. Weird alignment that uses pressure, need to take a long look at the Cuse DC as our new one if we go different direction next season
DC Tony White is legit. Runs the best 3-3-5 I've seen for a few years now. And now the offense is turning a corner.

Hell I’ve been drinking so let me take it a step further: I would look at Dino too.
I also like the OC, dude from uva last year. Great offensive mind.

I would take Dino as well. He would be dangerous with the talent he'd have access to, if he could keep the current staff. But I doubt he gets many looks after this year just based on his record the last several years.

Well I know you watch a lot of Syracuse, and I have over the last few years as well. I’m looking beyond his record and at the issues they have had at QB with injuries, and that he was trying to take a Cuse program that was really bad back to prominence. I don’t think he’s there yet, but they are much better than they were when he took over. We could use a coach like that to totally revamp a 3 win type team and get them back to a bowl.

I think they will turn the corner this year with the staff they have. They finally have talent on O, and not just RB. And a real OC to go with it. The defense has been good enough for a few years
