They wanted to replace the turf earlier than they did but there was a logistics problem getting it here, so they didn't. Then, knowing we had 3 games in a span of 15 days, they bit the bullet and decided it would be best to go ahead with the re-sod between the hashes because the turf's condition was bad. They knew it would look better if they left it alone, but in the end it will play better for these last 3 games by going ahead with the re-sod. Do you guys remember seeing all the slipping and sliding at Virginia? That's where we were headed. As mentioned before, the cold snap didn't help because the sod did not stay green in transit. Then, the rain in the forecast forced the grounds crew to paint the field much sooner than normal, so it wasn't freshly painted as it normally is when we see it on Saturdays.
