You are very much needed. Don't give up your tickets. If it appears you were wronged, make a complaint. I agree with others, move to an area where many fans stand during the game, Hang in there.

The folks kicking you out were probably the security company, not GT Athletics. GT Athletics would have probably tried to move you to a section where your fandom would be more appreciated. Its good feedback to give so they can coach the security crew.

I’ve sat UE, UW, UN, LE, and LW (and LS and LN during my student days). I’ve found the only non-student sections that typically stand are LE outside Club and LW. I would purchase tickets in those areas in the future if you’d like to stand. I’m short, which might explain it, but I have never had anyone tap me on the shoulder to sit down in all my years of going to Tech games.

The basketball crowd I’m more cognizant of standing because those crowds are usually less into the game unless there’s a minute or 2 left. I haven’t found a good spot where people stand in McCamish.

I am in 106 and we have some young people, early 20's, in front of us and some elder people in back of us like me. I the elderly and respect the younger group also. We all stand generally on 3rd downs and sometimes on a critical series I stand if the kids in front are standing, no problem. We work it out. Last night I stood way too much and my legs were cramping all night snd couldnt sleep. But was never told to sit down. Yall should talk and try to work something out, in my opinion.

This. Be respectful of others around you. If you want to stand the whole game, find a section that stands the whole game. If you're standing up in front of people when it's a 1st and 10 and every 1st and 10 and they ask you to sit and you refuse, that's on you. Appreciate you being a fan, but don't appreciate you being a jerk to the people around you. Read the room. 🤷‍♂️

Any suggestions? Obviously have 0 interest in North Endzone anymore
Don't have a suggestion but just want to say this is a problem everywhere. I got yelled at in Sanford Stadium for standing last year, and this has been a complaint among fans at Bryant-Denny for years. Even at WWE events where half the fun is the crowd getting into it, I've been told to sit down. If UGA and Alabama fans whine about standing up it's no surprise we do too.

I had season tickets for about 8 years in LW in 107. The crowd was always into the game and standing a lot. I also stand a good bit of the game (not the entire game). But I also do keep in mind who is around me, if it is a very elderly person behind me then I would typically stand on big plays and 3rd downs etc. Most of the time in the LW, people are very into the game and standing a lot in general so I would suggest looking at tickets there.

We stood and cheered during defensive 3rd downs and after big offensive plays. We will not apologize for standing during a football game. Maybe we are just 3 less sidewalk fans that Tech just doesn’t need anymore?? My Dad has been going to games since the 60s and I have been going since the late 90s.
I have no problem with standing at these points. It’s Tech tradition to stand on 3rd for defensive downs. I’ve never seen anyone complain. It’s the people who want to stand the entire game and don’t give a flip about the people behind them that I have a problem with. Your initial description of the situation left out some relevant information.

After sleeping on it for a night, we have decided to just forgo attending Tech games moving forward. It isn’t worth the hassle to be treated like crap. I know, no need to announce my departure. But here it is. Best of luck everyone.

I don’t know that I’ve ever seen a more discouraging message from one fan to another. Based on your previous posts, I know you don’t come to games religiously for the past decades like some of us do, if at all, which is fine if you live in Illinois or wherever you call home. But please don’t shame people that actually come to the games for trying to make BDS a loud environment. We need more people like that. Not trying to be rude, but I wouldn’t want you in my section.
We need all people and not all want or are able to stand for the full game. I agree with the poster that said there should be sections where standing the whole game is the norm and others where sitting is generally the norm. There is plenty of room for all fans regardless of how they enjoy watching games.

I don’t think I’ve ever seen a bigger miss in understanding what was written. The audacity to think that the only way you can be a good fan and be loud and supportive is to stand the whole game and make others around you conform to your way of watching a game is pure selfishness. There’s a time to stand, but that’s not the entire game.

I’ve also suggested on here and to GTAA that there should be standing sections in the field. These are sections where the intent is to stand, not sit. That way everyone can watch the way they want.

As a 70+ years old who has not missed a game in 50 years and has donated many $Ks to the program, my only advice to you is to F off. If you move to the club section and relegate me to watching the matrix board to see the game, I will absolutely kick you a$$. BTW, standing for big plays is OK, but if you stand the whole game it will be your last.
That's over the top! There is room for everyone and we need every fan we can get!

Yeah I think that's the right answer. Myriad reasons for someone needing to sit and having a hard time watching, but that's no reason to limit a fan from showing their support. If it had been a staffer helping OP find a better spot to enjoy the game instead of labeling them the enemy, I think things would have gone differently. Let's be real, though, we need both types of fans to show up and everyone in between.
